Can anyone tell me what are the blue balls which appear to float in the field of play in Crysis 2 multiplayer. What do they do

Nah, the hexagons still stay there XD, but to get the hologram, you unlock it as an addon for the scar, jackal and Mk.60 in the mp demo. If you have it equipped, you just select your second weapons slot (press "2") and click fire to 'launch' a hologram

It's just a notification to show your team that it is a friendly hologram. There's a glitch where the little icon doesn't disappear after the hologram expires. Therefore, floating hexagons where holograms used to be.

To get the hologram attachment, you need to do the kill challenges for that specific weapon. Therefore, when you complete the challenge(s), it will reward you with exp and a attachment module. When you have it equipped, tap "2" to ready the attachment then press mouse1 to fire one to where your cross-hair is pointing. Remember to tap "2" again afterward so you don't get screwed in a gunfight.

A lot of good it does, usually my deploying a hologram anywhere near a teammates results in BLAM!BLAM!BLAM "It's a **** hologram!!" and me left thinking "No ****, it just came out of my underbarrel attachment, flickered when you shot it, looks like a teammate (but doesn't have the friendly player indicator or a name) and it has a blue hexagon built into it".

Lol, yeah, most of the time my team mates are absolute retards and don't recognize a friendly hologram if it came up to them, gave them a hug, signed a peace treaty with them, and won the war with the Ceph single handedly, lol.
