DirectX11 doesn't matter as much now that I think about it.

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:39 pm

I mean, yes, it is a bit dissapointing hearing abou the news, but games are designed for fun, which I had a lot of during the demo. It's a great release, a game, people are so attached to the dessert, they're forgetting about the main course, and they haven't even tasted it yet.

Yes, it's not AS good without DX11, but whose to say it's not going to be fun without ultra-HD inyourface graphics? Not me - either way, If you tryed it, and not liked it just because of the graphics, have another go - if you didn't like it the second time with the gameplay, return it.

Also, Crysis 2 is STILL the most graphically intensive game, you have nothing to lose.

Well implemented DX11 remains important for me.

I Can't Run DX11, So I Don't Care That Much.

PS: Cryengine 3 Supports DX11, So I Don't Understand Why People Think Crytek Would Make An Engine That Support DX11 And Then Not Make Games That Use DX11.

Just quoting my self here for you people to understand the biggest advantage of dx11:
Many people don't really understand why dx11 is so important. A proper implementation of dx11 will give you a VERY significant boost in performance AT THE SAME QUALITY settings as dx9 or dx10. There is such a comparison made for stalker and i know i've seen some other game. Extra graphics quality? Whatever, it's welcomed. But all those ppl that have dx11 graphics card, no matter how weak they are, won't benefit for the improved performance gains of dx11 ...

I've got plenty of FPS's with great gameplay cluttering my shelves already. I don't need any more. Now the game is on pre-order but for me to think it was worth it. It needs to have something else and thats something is awesome graphics.

I like the game for the gameplay doesnt need good graphics to be an awesome game, if a game can keep me entertained for a year then its £30 well spent in my opinion

People seem to forget that Crysis 2 is a video game and not a tech demo. If graphics mean that much to you guys, I recommend downloading some of the tech demos from nvidia's site.

I'd love to see all you "graphics don't matter" guys playing crysis 2 with quake 2 textures, animation, sound quality, lighting etc. I'm sure u would love the game!

No, crysis and crysis warhead are the most graphically intensive games. They make the demo look like crap.

Also, not having DX11 means we are being ignored. It means its a crap console port.

AS A CONSUMER I will not give my money to people who do not want it. Crytek does not want my money. If they did they would not ignore me.

Simple as that. Put dx11 in the box and I may buy the game if they prove to me the textures are PC quality as well...

Every time somebody says DX11 doesn't matter I just want to slap them upside the head. The reason that we don't see our hardware fully exploited is partly because of buyer behavior based on statements like this.

I don't want them to rush DX11 it could be in the box and not make a big difference. Maybe if they give us some DX11 at launch and patch the rest in later is that possible?

Crysis 1 didn't have DX11.
And DX10 did nothing.

Yeah, it was mentioned it would come in a patch after release, but the fundamentals could be there in code. We just would not be able to see full effect of dx11 unless its all there :)

I too would prefer to see the implementation done correctly. Would not want it to be like a unbalanced chair and you just end up sticking a book under one of the legs.

Crysis 1 didn't have DX11.

You are right that was the only problem with it. But it never existed then so what can you do. Then again if we could simply go "direct to metal" like consoles I'm hearing that would be even better.
