Crysis wasn't a tech demo, the content was just rushed a little bit and the game was left buggy and unfinished.

Crysis 2 is not a tech demo, the content was just left to be generic to appeal to the masses.

I didn't have it crash...

Are you sure you played it with a 64-bit exe and DX10? It always crashes on any of my rigs. Google a little then, just type "crysis keeps crashing on reckoning" or "crysis reckoning crash" and you'll find tons of questions about this level.

Everyone who said C1 was just a tech demo was right. That's the only reason for that insane attention to detail.

Yeah because if it isn't a tech demo then obviously you should be sloppy in your attention to detail. But yeah if C2 is as far ahead of other games now as C1 was in 2007 I'll be happy to play on medium. Can't see it though!

The reason why crysis 2 is not a tech demo is because CE3 is ****. So there is nothing to show off. Same as CE2 but with console dev tacked on.

If there was something to show off, they would have shown it off. They havent, so its **** :D

Now Crytek actually tried to make a game, and it ended up worse than the tech demo.

Bottom line: C2 should've been a CE3 tech demo.

What how is it worse?

It actually has a nice and sensical story line (the old one wasn't bad or anything...just messed up.)

It has a fun multiplayer vs. that old pile of **** 1 and Wars were.

The graphics are better in almost every way. (Especially textures)

People can actually RUN it. Now you don't need a $2000 computer from 2007 to max it in 2007 like you did in Crysis 1. Crysis 2 brings the best graphics on the market to the masses with mid range computers.

Well said!

No, if it isn't a tech demo you have no reason to pay attention to details. People will buy anyway, and you're not trying to market the engine. Ergo, you have no reason to bother showing off every single thing it can do.

People are comparing textures of C1 plants with TEXTURES FROM IMPORTED CONSOLE DEMO, final release on PC it isn't port from console. The fact that you have menu & settings which look like menu from console game doesn't mean that game was ported, they have same base game structure for PC and consoles.

sorry to burst your bubble, the demo wasnt a console port. it was the final PC release. If you read some threads about people who have the retail version already, you would know this.

Yeah ppl who have retail release, you do realize that sellers can't sell/send to customer game before official game release date? In short words, they don't have game yet.

That's only true if you're an idiot and incapable of realizing that not all stores maintain street date, even if they're not technically allowed to ship before it.

I know that some idiots are breaking policy regarding release date =.=" But when they ship before, they get sued = lose rights to distribute game from XXX company. WHo would be so retarded to make something like that?

The same kind of people who don't read FAQs and then whine that they didn't know the Demo ended.
