I'm confused on Release date now.

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 12:15 am

2 days ago it said the game was coming in 6 days, and now today it says 1 day, isn't the release date the 22nd? I'm totally confused now!

In case of doubt, go with steam's date. That's when the game will be unlocked on it wich has to be the same in everywhere else.

Right azminday, but what he's saying is since we have multiple countdowns showing various time frames, we can temporarily "dismiss" those as being accurate- however, STEAM is always accurate on it's unlock time, unless something nasty post pones the game. My real concern is if the game really launches monday night/tuesday morning (what is midnight considered? The next day? I'm so stupid about that) then my STEAM unlock won't happen until what, ten hours later?

Plus the site has multiple comments about preorders starting a day early- what's that jazz? How do we start a day early?

I posted about this in the steam thread but have yet to get a response.

IF steam is accurate, it may only apply to steam preorders

I love how Cry-Adam directed me to this post by closing my post without giving a single answer as to why the gamesas time is so off. lol

The less time i have to spend moderating threads because people don't do a simple search before posting, the less time i have to spend answering questions. Clean up has to come before answering questions because otherwise there's 5 threads for every question which i'd have to answer in each thread instead of just one main thread. Help yourself by using the forums properly please.

I haven't spoken with the web team yet to find out how the counter functions, whether or not it's based on your profile locale or local time or what. Once i find that out i'll let you know but it seems of little importance in comparison to other questions that need answering. You've known what the release date has been for months now, March 22nd in the US, March 25th for EU and the rest of the world. Anything inbetween is based on timezone differences and early street launches, etc.

If anything we can use our own countdown clocks for example since the official release date has been announced.
My cellphone's countdown timer has been actively counting-down the months till release.
I'm glad to say after seeing it go from 60 to 3 days, I'm happy. :)

I take it this new age of computer people don't know how to do math either :(

Just from looking at the page using inspect element in Google Chrome I'll tell you how it works. It looks at your
IP address to determine your geographical location. As an example 71.207.111.242 is a Comcast IP address for
their northeastern Pennsylvania service area and the page would display the time according to EST. I have also noticed that when leaving the page open for a long time the counter doesn't keep accurate time since a page refresh can cause the counter to jump anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on how long it's open.

Guys, the dates still stand. North America will get the game on the 22nd of March. Everyone else in the world will get it on the 25th.

I'm NOT asking when the game is available for preload. I'm just asking how the EA download manager works. Does it ever allow downloading of game BEFORE activation. That's all. Thanks.

PST. But the release time should be the same as EA's, I doubt people with the retail version will be able to unlock it before steam.
