I'm trying to patch Crysis 2 to version 1.4 but I'm running into trouble.

The game doesn't seem to auto-update when I launch Crysis2.exe.

Crysis2Launcher.exe crashes after a few minutes with an error message saying "EA Core Server Application has stopped working".

The direct download links in the "Help & Support" section don't seem to work. (I get a 404 page from this link: http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=1073&lim=0 )

Does anyone know an officially endorsed location to download the patch? Or alternatively, if anyone has already downloaded the official patch archive, can you post the MD5 hash of the official patch archive so I can try downloading it from an unofficial source?

If the Crysis2Launcher.exe is crashing then i'd suggest it would be worth investigating why and trying to resolve the issue. There is the potential for other issues to arise if such a core file is not working on your system. I'd suggest at least reinstalling the game to see if it resolves the issue.

I'm currently trying to locate a manual download either way. We don't go ahead and post this because we prefer players use the inbuilt auto updater to ensure the file is coming from the right place and is in fact the right file and the latest file.

From what i've seen, this is a fairly isolated issue. I've searched for other threads regarding crashing of the updater without any results.

Right click on the Crysis2.exe in the Crysis2 folder (C/Programs/EA/Crytek/blah/blah/blah) Go to details and make sure it's Version is "1.4" If the version is 1.4 then the auto update will crash and fail. Is this happening for you? The updater crashes when you launch it?

When i double click the Crysis2Launcher.exe the game starts without problems.
No crashes. Just a few seconds of delay (because it's checking for anything to download) and then game starts normally.

I have version 1.4 i never experienced a crash of auto updater when I had 1.2 or 1.1 (dont remember if there were 1.1 but I used the auto updater normally).

yeah. Worm can break any application. And can sit in them stealthy, allowing to you use app for your purposes.

Yea, pretty much. It doesn't exactly say "fail and crash" it just fails and gives the error "Warning: Could not display patch download progress".

But when I did upgrade from 1.2 -> 1.4 the updater worked, but I had to use it manually in Crysis 2's Bin32/EACore/PatchProgress.exe.
I have the EADM Version and I use a desktop shortcut to run the game.
