I just joined some random servers + quick matches, didnt find any.

TBH I've MAYBE seen one minor hacker, but really nothing major that couldnt be attributed simply to bugs / lag.

I've had 2 instances with hackers. One was so obvious it was as if I was playing MW2 all over again. The guy went 124-1, with constant headshot kills.

Hackers will exist in every game, best thing to do for now would be to join a server that has an active admin around to manage issues such as hacking.

I've already noticed a hacker too. Pretty obvious hack as well. Swapping between targets with 100% precise lock-ons with the targets being at completely different areas of the map. Funny thing though, he kept swapping between targets, not actually killing the target and moving on to the next one after that.

The clan tag was "AA", in reference to Artificial Aiming, I'm guessing. The same hack that was present in the demo. Although, it was much more severe in the demo.

The game has barely been out a week and we already have all these hackers. So much for their anti-cheat measures... :(

Well that svcks. I've played MP a bit and it seems to have potential. For me it feels like PC game producers are trying to force me to pick another hobby.

I think that if you get caught hacking they should instantly destroy your cd key and thats that. You have to go buy one again and you wasted your money thats how I would run it.

That would do nothing, Ambush. There's already a keygen out that the hackers are using. Destroying the key would cause an actual purchaser of the game to be unable to play.

How about a MAC ban then JP? I just played a bit and I believe C2 MP is worth saving.

Or just use punkbuster, seriously why bother making your own obviously inferior 'anticheat' when pb runs a fairly successful getup across multiple games. Spend the time saved on either making sure your ea servers aren't terribad, fixing bugs, or releasing sandbox (we know its done).

Hackers are in pretty much every game. It's life. Just hope they all get caught though

Punkbuster can't stop hacks but only prevents honest people from playing the game.
I used to play battlefield 2142 before with punkbuster, but I was kicked by it all the time simply because i have a slow connection and high ping.

After playing APB and a few other Punkbuster enabled games i have little faith in there program. I say let Crytec make there own and see where it goes.

I just don't understand how developers still use Gamespy. I believe that Steam has a potential in helping with matchmaking and dedicated servers. I guess I won't know then.

Had my share of hackers today. Ranked server, he was level 3, but was in the top 3 and made it to first place with me (level 14) and some other guy (level 25). Finally he started killing me and I noticed in kill cam he was getting headshots only and killing people at long range. Also, his cl_fov was set to some insanely high value (120 maybe?) I can't believe FOV can be modified past 90 in multiplayer. Even Battlefield Bad Company 2 limits mulitiplayer FOV to 90.

The problem with PunkBuster is that game companies must pay HUGE licensing fees to use it. For instance, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 started off with PunkBuster support (even says on the back of my game's box) but after a year, there is no longer official PunkBuster support. (Can you imagine trying to play MP now in that game when each user has a different version of PB installed?)

Punkbuster is great. It's used in Bad Company 2 and I played that game for over 500 hours over the last year and saw less than 5 hackers in that year. It's really improved a lot.

Agreed. But DICE continues to pay for PB service. Other companies like Ubisoft don't. And given CryTek's current track record with Crysis 2, it looks like they're gearing towards Ubisoft's form of customer service and credibility towards its consumer base.
