Hate the weapons nerf?

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 7:36 am

Am i the only one who hates how the weapon customization system got a heavy swing with the nerf bat?

In particular how CryTek took the S out of SCAR.
I mean the entire concept of the SCAR and even the real life FN SCAR is for it to be a modular assault rifle with a crapload of options, which it had in the original Crysis.
But now by Crysis 2 it has very poor customization options.

You can't attach a silencer, you can't attach a sniper scope, you can't attach a laser sight, which on a sidenote kinda svcks that you are only allowed to have a laser sight "or" scope/reflex sight on weapons that allow for laser.

For me that was one of the great fun things with the original Crysis, you could customize a weapon to your hearts content.
It also svcks that you are no longer allowed to adjust/customize your weapons at all in multiplayer mid-combat.
And whatever happened to flashlights?

And on a final sidenote, i really miss the Claymores.

Remember that trailer with the Pinger attacking Central Station? The SCAR sounded so amazing in that.

Actually i don't recall the SCAR being fired at all in that trailer.
All i saw and heard fire was the Grendel.

If I were you guys, I'd only play Crysis2 Singleplayer and stay with the Crysis/Warhead Multiplayer. Because this is just sad and totally not worth it.

Thats kind of the sa thing though, these awful nerfs impact singleplayer greatly. =/
Though i think the worst thing of all is that the Pistol has lost its dedicated pistol slot.

I dont even know why they call it a SCAR. the SCAR assault rifle in real life looks nothing like the game. if anything it looks a hell of a lot more than the XM8

I think the customisation system is plain stupid.
It is not possible to attach a scope to the silenced SCAR, I can not silence the ranged SCAR and it is impossible to switch the demolition SCAR to single fire. Kinda makes the whole idea of an modular weapon obsolete.

this gaming company is done making pc games.
ALL PC USERS SHOULD JUST RETURN THEIR COPY.
this IS a defective product. go out and get your money back people.

so far ive had 3 of my posts deleted by mods. theyre here lurking they just dont give a **** about the pc community anymore. we help make the game and make it popular, they sell us out for console gamers. **** you crytek you put your name on this game. and it was a failure.

GO RETURN OR TRADE IN THIS GAME GENTS. dont buy broken merchandise.

i think you should **** off out of this thread and atleast post this **** in threads that are similar in subject and not just some stupid retard cut pasting everywhere.

I hate how restricted our weapon customization options are now. I guess crytek thought console kiddies couldn't handle too many options without soiling themselves.

i personally think the reason is because they have more weapons this time around and they dont want all weapons to have all attachments so kind of spread things out abit get people to use diffrent weapons rather than 16 people in the server using a silenced reflex scar with a grenade launcher.

I can understand having it this way for Multiplayer.
But Singleplayer? Makes no sense at all and "forces" the player to use certain weapons rather than giving the player the freedom of letting the player have the weapon of his choice and customise it.
And even more fail is the before mentioned loss of the pistol slot.

I mean why would i even want to use a pistol in SP when i have to sacrifice a primary weapons slot and virtually all rifles and what not does the job better.

Change makes sense for multiplayer, makes for decent weapon balancing. Not so sure with singleplayer. Now that you have the ammo resupplies all over the place, there's not that much reason to switch weapons. Could be they wanted different weapons to feel more unique, and to make the player actually have choice in what is equipped. No swiss army knife gun anymore. I'm kinda mixed on that, there are aspects I like about the choice and aspects I don't like.

I do agree that the loss of a pistol slot is annoying. Only reason I could think of is to streamline weapon slots. They had way too many weapon slots before. Not sure why they'd go that route but leave in a grenade slot though. I am very glad I don't have to equip my knife anymore to use it, that is a definite plus. Integrating fist slot is a plus too; I have all the fist functions without the fists equipped.

What did you expect? Console player`s brain would blow up if weapon customisation was somewhere near Crysis. It`s just to coplex for ordinary buyer.

People keep calling the console players idiots, but look at the number one thread in the 360 subforum: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=11567

That should've happened in the PC forum first. We're supposed to be the guys pulling that kind of effort together. Instead we're all just in here crying about ports and DX11.

I don't think console players are idiots.
I think CryTek are idiots for making Crysis 2 PC a straight console port instead of staying true to their word of making Crysis 2 PC the best PC experience possible.
