Crysis 2 has stopped working?

When ever i want to play crysis 2 the first thing that comes up is crysis has stopped working and asks me to either close, look online for solution, and debug (we have all seen it somewhere on our computer). but if i want to play the game i have to click close program and then when i click the crysis2launcher.exe again it works. Why does it give the pop up the first time and if i want to play it i have to click the exe a second time?

Only thing I could guess is try updating your graphics drivers, and restart the PC and go from there. Otherwise attempt using Compatibility mode.

I have already reinstalled ati drivers, and im going to try restarting.

any other suggestions?
