cancelled my preorder

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 5:10 am

After that demo I had to cancel it. They became total sellouts. Its a cod clone with powers and the first crysis looks better. This is pathetic. I played the 360 and ps3 demos aswell and they look the same as pc. So much for pushing boundries. Also i didnt see a start button on my keyboard. It is a console to pc port. they claimed it would run better than crysis 1 but crysis 1 runs better for me! Unless I see proof the game looks truly superior on pc and runs well, its a no go for me. The gameplay was bland and boring also with terrible physics.

anyone else feel the same? I bought a new PC preparing for it...and they failed me. Oh well. Shogun 2 time...

Yes, we know, it's Crytek's Invisible War. Just go with it, nothing's gonna change at this point, and the MP gameplay IS fun, all things considered.

How dare you say something that's true jack, how very dare you. We all know that if crysis 2 wasn't a copy paste of crysis 1 it'd be the worst game ever.

i loved crysis 1 and warhead. I wasn't saying copy and paste< i was saying it looks visually worse. Crytek hopped on the Call of Duty bandwagon to increase sales. All of the people I know canceled their orders as well. It doesn't even feel like crysis anymore. It feels more like halo reach mixed with cod. I did play the leak at a friends house and the AI wasn't even as intelligent as they claimed. I like a lot of shooters and just got homefront (which is not a cod CLONE, while similar its more like battlefield) and have the COD games...what devs need to realize is, if i want to play COD ill play COD. and yes I canceled the backpack Nano Edition. Shooters need to stop trying to copy what sells best and make something unique like Crysis 1 was.

You're the dumb one. The MP demo is the ONLY thing we have to make judgments off of. Crytek didn't release a SP demo. As a result we have to assume the MP demo accurately depicts what the final game will be like in both MP and SP formats. Assuming anything else would be downright irrational.

And the footage of Crysis 2 you keep referring to may very well have been enhanced in the exact same way prerelease footage of Crysis 1 was "enhanced" by Crytek before the Crysis 1 release. People's complaints about the graphics are 100% legit. Until the full game comes out, the MP demo is all we can base our opinions off of and not be pulling **** out of our ***es.

Hey dumbass, the footage I was talking about was uploaded by users. You're an ignorant fool. Play vanilla Crysis 1 and watch the Crysis 2 footage and tell which looks better. You would have to be blind to think Crysis 1 looks better technically. The global illumination lighting is a generation ahead you idiot.

wow you're butthurt. When a person resorts to namecalling, it shows they no longer have an argument. The global illumination lighting is a DX11 feature. The leaked beta was DX9 only so there's no possible way for there to be "global illumination lighting" in user created footage - not until the game is fully released anyway.

Lol that post just destroyed your credibility. Global illumination is NOT a DX11 exclusive feature. It's even on the console versions. Get a clue before discussing graphics. You just got annihilated. Nobody should ever take any of your posts regarding graphics seriously again after this idiotic statement. Sorry.

LOL oh to the contrary, "kid." What I have to respond to you immediately now? You've already been owned. I don't need to repeat myself.

Global illumination Lighting has been available in a primitive form since DX10 with SSAO. SSAO isn't true GIL as it doesn't alter the actual lighting algorithms used in the game. It simply uses the geometry of the rendered world to appropriately enhance or reduce the amount of lighting certain specific polygons receive. True GIL with the on the fly alteration of existing light sources in games to provide similar effects as SSAO but without the large performance hit is only available as a DX11 feature. An enhanced type of GIL was also introduced in DX11 called photon mapping which is also commonly referred to as ray-tracing. No games are currently using this feature as of yet.

By you insisting on the opposite being true simply shows that in contrast you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. The further I argue with you, the more names you throw out, hence building the fact that you have no argument to play with.

Nope, wrong. Crysis 2 has global illumination lighting. Feel free to read any of the PP slides for Cry Engine 3 that Crytek has released or any other number of sources out there.

Now you're really reaching. I never said Crysis 2 didn't have GIL. Go back and read my posts slowly. Maybe you'll understand. I said the GIL employed in Crysis 2 is a DX11 only feature which is not related to the large increase of dynamic light sources from 4 to 128 (Cryengine2 vs Cryengine 3).

You are confusing GIL which is DX11 only with the increase in dynamic light sources which can be done in DX9/10/11 and OpenGL.

You're arguing semantics that nobody cares about and kind of back pedaling here. The game has the best lighting ever seen in this entire medium, period. It's a massive leap over Crysis 1.

No, I'm stating cold hard facts about features you have been misrepresenting.

And without anything to back up what you've said, you're now resorting back to pure opinion, just like in the other thread. The video you showed me is not of Crysis 2. Its a Cryengine 3 tech demo. Since no one has played the game with DX11 yet (let alone posted about it) no one can confirm exactly how nicely the GIL and increased dynamic lighting has been implemented in Crysis 2. That has been my argument from the start.

We will find out tomorrow. Until then it's all pure opinion, with the demo being the only thing we can compare anything to.
