Crytek, Can you PLEASE fill us PC gamers in a little on DX??

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 1:40 am

Why are you being so hush hush? I think you would find out if you give your PC customers some sort of official (Detailed) information on whats going on with upcoming patches, DX updates, etc. You would find many would calm down a bit. I think you know that you marketed your new game with DX11 support, and the people want to hear from you on this subject, and many more issues as well. TALK TO US PLEASE!!

The longer you keep your mouth closed, the more p!@#ed your customers will become. We are pretty tired of searching the net trying to get some sort of updates when the updates should be coming from you. We are the ones buying YOUR game, We DESERVE some words from you, don't you agree??

GIVE YOUR CUSTOMERS SOME INFORMATION PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! A lot of people are counting on your company, please don't let us down....

You wont find it because they NEVER said it. THe only proof was Nvidia mistakingly listing in on their site as a DX11 capable game.

Crysis 2 looks better than any DX11 capable game, and does not need it. Focus on patching the online issues and bugs and Ill be happy.

This is where we are I think:

Camarillo said, "Crysis 2 will support DirectX 11 but we'll talk more about that in the future. There's an announcement coming soon about that."(IGN)

http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/115/1153248p1.html
(obviously if Camarillo was misquoted we would've been told because this was mentioned in numerous posts and every time somebody asked for "the DX11 announcement" [which is all the time] this quote is being referenced).

"Built for DirectX 11
Enjoy all the visual glory of the latest DirectX? 11 blockbuster games like Crysis 2, HAWX 2, and Civilization 5. With massive geometry processing power of the GeForce GTX 560 Ti lets you enjoy incredibly detailed environments and characters."(Nvidia)

that's my exact same thought, why the hell do you want DX if it already looks amazing? instead of annoy them with DX, annoy them with the bugs and multiplayer issues

p.s: i dont support annoying :P

In terms of whats more photo realistic then there are a number of levels in Hawx 2 that are significantly superior to Crysis 2 IMHO. But this is only done because of tessellation.

This opinion has nothing to do with the original question this thread is asking. Crysis2 looks amazing for a dx9 port, but if you look directly at textures, the simply look like A$% compared to what is possible in a dx11 game. You honsetly think crysis 2 in dx9 looks better than crysis 1? You're fooling yourself.

Besides, were getting fixes for mp, suit modules, and other bug fixes in patch 1.2 so stop your whining. This has already been confirmed.

I for one just wish they would finally answer the question "does the game support dx11, yes or no"? I too am tired of agonizing over this question.

It doesn't matter anyway unless you are dumb enough to think Crysis 2 in DX9 will look better than Crysis 2 in DX11.

Thats odd, because the game was playable in DX11 at PAX East 3 weeks go! Learn to research.

You guys do realize that Crysis 1 was also a DX9 game? Any DX10 effects in Crysis were artificially locked down to only work with DX10 mode, even though they worked with DX9 if you used custom configs. There was almost zero difference in graphics in Crysis Very High DX9 and Crysis Very High DX10, except DX9 ran a lot better.
