Just wondering what kind of performance you are getting on crysis2...

(I'm using extreme settings, 1680x1050, vsync off)

Using the radeonpro fix i range between 25fps in an outdoors firefight to a max of 99 fps indoors (but that is pretty much when I am looking only at a wall). I would say that overall I average around 32-38fps.

However, even when it says i'm getting high (40-50)fps the image appears very slightly jerky most of the time, causing it to look like its at about 30fps maximum.

My system:
phenom II 940 @3.6GHz
reference 4870x2 stock clocks
4 gigs DDR2
Catalyst 11.2 CAP 4

For reference, on the crysis 1 benchmark at very high settings, 1680x1050, no AA, no AF i get 43.2fps

Am i doing something wrong, or is this expected?

Thanks for all help in advance

That was my card until upgrading to a GTX 560ti before the game came out and had really great performance on the demo. I was playing at 1920x1200 too so I would say what you are experiencing is normal for a well optimized game.

Enabling vsync has improved things drastically for me. I get higher fps overall, most of the time about 40 - 60fps, but more importantly the jerkiness has gone completely and the game now feels really smooth. In some areas the fps still does go down sharply however, and I've noticed it happening even in small indoors areas with no npcs around. Firefights are generally consistently in the 40 - 60 fps region so I don't know what's up with these framerate drops.

Overall I'm much happier though :)
