This Game is the best FPS I have ever played.

I can understand the complaints about no DX11... I also want DX11. Badly.

But how in hell can you say this is not made for PC... I have way more fun playing this than I had playing Crysis 1... sure the environments were widely open and pretty much sandbox-like, and yeah it was fun to play with the enemy soldiers, confusing them and stalking them like a predator-wannabe vs Arnold in the mighty jungle.

But the gunplay to me was pretty .. I don't know.. stale..

Improvements I loved?

Jumping power, not having to activate anything to jump up high, just the classic jump key/button, harder press, higher jump.

Speed. Just press sprint and youll speed up, to the point of getting a speeding ticket. No complications, you don't have to sacrifice anything and deactivate a power.

With these two come the possibility to combine powers, the possibility to slide and the possibility to "lean".
The gunplay here is just astounding, I didn't seem to notice any gameplay loss relating weapon customization, and I sure am thankfull for the nano suit upgrade system (although it is currently bugged).

I have a gtx 580 super clocked, from EVGA, a beast of a card. But whatever, this game is incredibly optimized... Even my friend, that has a 275, can play this with an amazing fluid frame rate. I am aware of the multi GPU problems, I am sure they will be patched. I my self have suffered login and KEY glitches. Sure I can't tweak all the graphics like in any other PC game.., don't really miss any option, since what I see is just beatiful.. But when I play.. I get a seemless 60 FPS at extreme quality, with no stutters and no bumps or jumps or nothing.. constant 60 FPS awesomeness.

With the best looking graphics I've ever seen in a game. In fact, cry-tek will be remembered by me for being the first company to ever create a non-artifficial skyscraqer in a game.. True reflections, you can actually see the inside to some point and you can see the lights that are inside.. AWESOME. I'm loving the campaign, and I know I'll have to wait some time or find cool servers to enjoy multiplayer.

So... lighten your hearts up people, and enjoy the game for what it is, not what it could be, because it will probably WILL be eventually.

I did not intend to buy this game at all... But I did and I don't regret it at all. This thing pulled me off of my 3DS, Killzone 3 and Rift.

Sorry but I did briefly skip through your post. Did you ever play the original? I think that is where most of the hate is coming from, when you compare it to the original Crysis.

EDIT so you did. Was your PC able to hand it on high/very high? There is a clear difference between the two (not saying that Crysis 2 is inferior)

Yes, I could handle it at a stable 40 FPS, with the highest settings available.

And yes, the graphics are pretty breathtaking when you are outside in the open.

But You have to recognize that crysis 2 and crysis 1 are the best looking games ever. But I don't know CRysis 2 just looks better to me as a whole... maybe the effects and filters?

Im at work so i dont have time to read your entire post, so i appologuise if you have already mentioned this.

Crysis 1 was pretty much open world when it came to playing which i loved, but come on, this one is set in a city, so why are people so suprised that its very fixed pathed? how much exploration can you really do in a city? not much, visit a few shops maybe, go on roofs and try to survive drops off them, but that would get boring.

As for the game play, people acting as if its the end of the world that theres bugs and no Dx11 support, i have absolutely no issue playing the game, i find the campaign very fun, its still difficult, the bugs make it that little more challenging when it comes to invisibility and sometimes annoying but its not an issue

I wish people would stop acting like they cant play single player because of no Dx11 support or a few bugs, i have the same as everyone else but im playing it with no issues.

Will read properly when im home

I just wish I could play sp or mp without being sent into a flicker induced coma and without having to disable my hardware to do so :)

"I've only been playing pc games since 1997 so I may not have a ton of insight. I remember when Crysis came out and there were people trolling it for having "boring" or "stale" gameplay, people were like "This game looks great, if only if it was as fun to play as it is to look at". Now people are whining about the graphics, which is just annoying. You've got the best looking game on the market and all you can say it it's not good enough? This isn't aimed directly at you Taxonomic just all the haters out there. I was under the assumption that the simplified graphics settings were just for the demo, and that the full game would have the full range of settings and options to set. If not I'll be annoyed, but I'm not going to damn Crytek to hell for it."

Interesting post from GameFaqs Crysis 2 PC boards. The Poster is Teh_Real_Kamina.

It is a legitimate complaint, and this is how it should be done. And what he describes about crysis 1 is what happened to me. That is why I like Crysis' 2 Gameplay much better.

Hear, hear

I got the nanocatalyst bug but I had already unlocked all the suit powers anyway, so go me

Best action styled fps Single player since COD4 MW

BTW

Crysis 1 is not open world, thats what we call GTA or Red Dead Redemption, Crysis is a sandbox, a large area with many tools to play with unlike say Gears of War where your only real strategy is to be cover based shooting.

Watch Zero punctuations video for crysis, the camps have many entrance points but the overall progression is fairly linear

Yeah, i meant sandbox, my bad. But dont get me wrong i am disappointed in the game, but its not like its unplayable, and the campaign is a lot more fun, just a shame its not like crysis 1, but then again, in most cases you cant really beat the original

FOR ME Crysis 2 > Crysis 1 in terms of GAMEPLAY... Nanosuit is greatly improved in whole design, but game is being killed by many frustrating bugs

I feel the same way :) And your PC can handle Crysis 1 better than mine lol! Mine can get a stable 40fps only on high with no AA. Sad panda :(

I totally agree.........lol not its looks amazing if your squint at the screen, but when you turn of the **** blur effects you will see that this game is very VERY bad graphically, the textures in general are half the size of that in crysis 1, there are a few posts showing the difference between the two and tbh all this game is is a MASSIVE sellout to the console market, which is a bit of a pisstake considering it support from the PC community.
Im not saying its a piece of **** ... well actually i am because it the worst FPS i have ever played.
thankfully I have a refund in the process from the credit card company, and will NEVER be buying another CRYTEK/EA release, and what is even worse is the fact i bought this game on STEAM, and after a day they took their refund dept offline lol this just proves that there is ALOT of ppl that are unsatisfied, there is currently over 20,000 refunds been made,

Its a shame because i was looking forward to this game so much, it could have been summit specia, but EA and their impatience have **** yet another good title (MoH being the other recent one)

OK rant over peace out

True it's not a retread of Crysis which doesn't bother me greatly we still have the 90 plus excelence of Crysis Warhead too

Maybe... but in return I have an amazingly optimized experience. Top notch graphics, no where to be equaled.

IMHO it's all about balancing out the experience... and from my point of view, crytek sure excelled here.

EDIT: Oh! and by the way, I've played for a couple of hours the 360 version, and by no MEANS does it even come CLOSE to the clearness and supreme fluidity of the PC experience when playing with maxed out everything. I just find it to be unbelievable how good this game runs on PC... we get really **** experiences with supposedly AAA games out there that are optimized like crap.

So I'm grateful for that.
