First off, I was a huge fan of Crysis 1. One of the best fps story lines I've played. I was a huge fan of farcry, farcry 2 not so much. But I don't even know where to begin with the BS Crytek is pushing out right now. The lack of DirectX 11 support in today's competitive gaming market is ridiculous. You can say "hey I get better frame rates in DX9," bottom line is newer games that claim to be pushing games graphically forward should by now have upgraded to DX11. If you can't see the difference between DX0 and 11 than I'm sorry, you're just oblivious. As for a patch later adding it, there is no confirmation of this. With all of the frustration going on with PC gamers Crytek should come out and let us know what's up.

A friend bought Crysis 2 on 360 and I watched him play the starting of the game. After the first level an achievement came up saying "Can it play Crysis?" This was the biggest slap in the face I've seen from a video game. PC gamers are the enthuisiasts, most of us spend a crap ton of money on our gaming rigs because games are our hobby. And for you A holes to try to convince 360 owners that their systems are on par with gaming pc's that have like 50 times the processing capability is just pathetic. Seriously, you're a horrible company and I have a really hard time justifying buying a EA title in the future, let alone Crytek is a damn joke so you're not going to syphon a dollar out of me.

And to answer your question, no, those crap boxes can't play Crysis. Maybe they can halfway play a sell out of a sequel to Crysis, with like 30 fps if it's lucky.

And it's pretty ridiculous to find out the rumors are most likely true that you lowered the resolution and frame rate on PS3.

My question is, how much is Microsoft paying you? Because in the long run I doubt it's going to be a benefit, do you have any idea how many die hard fans you lost with this? It's just sad that a company that once pushed PC hardware to it's max is now trying to sell out the platform to Microsoft, who is afraid of losing customers to a superior platform.

I was really, really excited for this game. I've been anticipating it for some time only to be completely let down by a bunch of corporate stooges. I always had respect for EA. They seemed like a very legitimate business that valued their fanbase. Now they've sunken lower than Activision. And Crytek, you make Treyarch look like honest people.

What the hell has happened to the gaming market? Call of Duty ruined everything. Turned the whole market into a complete greed chase.

And I'm pretty sure that not too many months ago, Crytek were telling us how awesome the PC version would be. Well, where are the PC specific features all PC games have? Where are the settings? You do realize that the platform is scalable unlike consoles right?

Not to mention 4 years of "development" and they still couldn't deliver the game with DX10/11 features right out of the box, problematic demos, no advanced graphical settings, only showing the Xbox version untill late february/ beginning of march...

Kinda makes you wonder what the hell have they been doing all this time, no?

Crytek's goal has sifted from game company to technology company. They want to sell their engine and compete with UE3. They know that other game devs are lazy and are just wasting oxygen. They had to demonstrate you can make a great console game using CE3. As for pc when was the last time someone other than valve blizzard and dice paid attention to pc games.

CE3 is great at making scripted liner shooters and has better godrays than UE3. They want to sell game engine by showcasing crysis 2. They know nobody will want to license ce3 for pc development and hence crysis2 wont have long term monetary benefits. Hence this half baked console port. Any money they can squeeze from pc is just extra gas money to them. or maybe they believe in 80-20 priciple.
Y work 80% when working 20% + past reputation can get them enuf pc sales

I thought that "can it play Crysis?" Might be an achievement you get when the game detects that it's running at over 90 fps on a PC.

I was also baffled when i saw the achievement. That was a HUGE slap in the face of anyone with at least 2 working neurons. Do they take us for retards or what?

When I saw that achievement/trophy, I laughed my arse off. Simply because, like someone said on this topic, it was a question you'd hear a lot about in forums like these or Crymod etc. It was a great joke especially.

the reason why consoles are so popular :
-they do not need to be upgraded
-developers only have to worry for 1 setting on each console

console games get programmed direct to metal which means no API's like DirectX in the way of developers so they can program alot more draw calls and geometry calls on on the GPU while the same GPU on the pc would not be able to handle it with DirectX in its way.
