dx11 means more destrutible enviroments?

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 8:49 pm

As you all know there are much more destructible things in the original crysis than in crysis2.

I dont know but is it because crysis 2 dont use dx11 or dx10?

Can we aspect more destruction if a patch with dx11 comes out?

Nope. That has to be built into the engine and from what we see it is not.

No.

An entire new physics engine would be required for destructable environments.

Consoles dont do highly advanced psysics sudo as environment destruction, and considering we're playing a console game.

Cryengine 3 is a dumbed down version of Cryengine 2.

i dont matter how beautyfull you show the gamers what a engine can do if you dont implent it into a game you dont see it.

they need to ban fake videos of games that dont represent the true graphics

only show what you get not what you can do.

Cryengine 3 is a dumbed down version of Cryengine 2.

You nailed it!

I mean, yeah it looks awesome but it's dumbed down for console trash. If it would be a true PC game i bet our PC's would melt away and noone would reach the 30 FPS mark!

If they developed for current PC's without a console version, they could have given a absolutely magnificent graphical engine that is better coded and better designed for PC. PC's would be able to go far beyond 40 FPS with insane graphics. The first Crysis was just badly coded, that is why it ran so bad. At the moment: Crysis 2 only partially achieved with Cryengine 3.

Crysis 2 has almost no destruction. I can shoot a rocket launcher at a light and it won't leave a scratch

In Crysis 2, they looked at where people were going to shoot and that is where they put "some" destruction. Even though it was not very realistic destruction. I was hoping to be able to blow walls away from buildings and make craters in the streets of New York. No i can just chip parts off of road blocks and certain walls. I might be able to completely destroy a billboard!! Awesome!! Lets try shoot that one there. ZOMG indestructible cardboard object detected! Only where there are some enemies is there a little bit of destruction.
