Multiplayer madness!

The single player is a joy to play just like pringles I couldnt stop until I finished the whole lot, incredible visuals, fantastic audio, A real masterpiece without a doubt, Too bad the multi player will be ruined by cheats just like every other decent online game made today.

I have had the game 2 days and already found several players that I am 100% certain were cheats.

Amazing how fast a cheating player can totally spoil my interest in continuing multiplayer.

Is anything robust and reliable ever going to be around to combat this?

Seems to me unless there is a drastic change cheating will be totally accepted as "OK" because from what I have observed nothing stops it.

There are cheating players, yes, some make it obvious while others try to hide it. One game I was in today had a player moving at about 800% speed across the map.. Made Extraction rather interesting when it ends in 20 seconds.

The other was an aimbotter, which I didn't really pick up on because I killed him a couple times, but when I watched his killcam after he killed me, he landed four headshots in a single clip (without his character turning, for some reason he didn't even need to face the targets to hit them [unless it just happened within microseconds that it appeared that way]) whilst spraying towards a wall. And then he continued to do so for the rest of the game.

Just avoid them for now, switch servers and play elsewhere until they're gone.

long in the future the complete code of the game will be server side, all your PC is doing is streaming the video/sound/control data, once you can do this it will be very hard to hack, and even if you do you can only do minimal things like control scripts

until then it looks dim

maybe there could be a work around this problem, but it would need completely new thinking at designing the game code, maybe certain important subroutines and they control data should be server side... not sure if current internet connections could handle this, but it would be worth to run a few tests

just as example energy level : the local computer calculated the current state but the server does it as well, data comparing the 2 is periodically exchanged and corrected by the server... its definitely a technical challenge, and even this is not 100% as a hack could simulate the data stream - making the server think everything is fine when the hacker actually uses unlimited energy hack

currently they try to combat hacks by detecting such programs running, this battle CAN NOT be won, as hacks can be updated all the time, even organically reorganizing they own code, making it undetectable... the solution is writing a game code that can not be hacked do to the nature of that code

Meh. Hackers don't ruin my fun in this game as much as the bad spawn system does. It's still fun though.

Now I have given crysis 2 a couple more chances to impress me in multiplayer I feel its actually worse than I first thought, I was probably blinded by the really impressive visuals, or my annoyance at the blatant cheats ruining the game for all.

I have to agree the previous post, the spawn system is awful, truely bad.

Maybe Im getting old for the fast pace at which this game is played multiplayer (doubtful), perhaps im being killed way faster than I should be due to cheats and the accuracy of these auto aimbots etc.

One thing I know for sure is when I spawn and walk forwards 5 paces having a member of the opposite team spawn in the exact same spot I just did and shoot me in the back before I have even played for 5 seconds is a world class bad idea.

I still maintain the single player is a masterpiece and I enjoyed every minute....not as clever as Crysis 1 in terms of AI, destructable buildings and the small details (thank the consoles for that) but I did think to myself "Wow" quite a few times while going through the campaign and thats not often in video games these days.

-Im looking forward to seeing what the game looks like using DX11.
-A patch that tells the cheats thanks but no thanks you're banned from the inernet for life and the boys will be over shortly to give a well deserved kick in the ass to teach you a little respect for others (wishful thinking).
-A server queue system that accurately displays the ping from the server, one that is actually below 109
-A Better spawn system for multiplayer.

*A hero that tells EA / Powers that be, to GTFO when they are inflexible with release dates and push to get games released before they are ready.

Great game that was clearly released slightly too early, when will this trend of madness ever end?
