I used to play UT2004 for some time ( 4-5 years ). the fov I had was about 85 ( like 99% of community back then ), anything more than 90 was unplayable - aiming problems. so, you had huge fov like 110 but you were unable to win because of aiming issue. same story here - bigger fov, smaller the enemy. 75-85 is the best in my opinion. changing FOV isn't cheating.

There's a working console command for changing the FoV, so the dev's dont mind us doing it, i.e. not cheating
It doesnt involve editing any game files or using 3rd part apps
It doesnt change your input (i.e. aims for you)

Its not a cheat, its a feature.

its not wrong and its not cheating, its called optimizing the VISUALS to how you want them.

I personally don't like having the weapon on my screen taking up the entire half of the screen. It looks awful.

What I would consider cheating would be using eyefinity in a 3-way monitor setup. Now THAT I would consider illegal, lol.

Anyone who plays PC FPS knows that the object is to tweak your config as much as possible to get ANY ADVANTAGE of your opponent. Thats the whole purpose of the console/cfg. This has been happening forever and if you think that being able to change things like your FOV is cheating then go play consoles because you dont belong on the PC

EVERYONE has the ability to change the same settings as everyone else so its not like you can and another person cant. If you cant because your PC cant handle it then thats your own fault and you should invest in a better rig. If you cant, then stop crying

Changing Fov it's not cheats. Original Fov addapted for tv 16:9, but on PC diagonal less. I play on 70fov and 80fov for sprint mode, cool zoom-effect.

cl_fov = 70
pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov = 80

Realistically, we see in a 160° horizontal FOV and a 175° vertical FOV so that's what I set it to.
