Veteran mode feels like Recruit mode

Post » Fri Jun 03, 2011 1:04 pm

I've been playing my copy of Crysis 2 (360) on Veteran mode since I bought the game. I was by my friends yesterday and he loaded up his copy of Crysis 2 (PS3) and set it on Recruit mode. As I was watching him play it looked like he was on Veteran mode.

After about 15 - 20 minutes watching him I was handed the controller. As I was playing the same levels that I had already played earlier this week it felt a lot like Veteran mode. The Cell units didn't feel any less intelligent and reacted the same way.

I love a good challenge and that's why I went with Veteran mode. I don't believe there is any difference in game modes.

Has anyone else experienced this?

i'm not as good as you and definitely recruit mode feels to hard, i have a hard time, this game dont feel like its been written by the same people like crysis1 was

im fairly sure i will need a trainer to get trough the single player, crysis1 i did not had this problem

i also add that the game feels a lot more restrictive in how i can win, in crysis1 i had a lot more freedom, it was more like an open world, here is definitely like a corridor

for example crysis1 has x amount of enemy units if you where camping and tuke them out 1 by 1 you had it easy, here they just keep coming endlessly except a few key units (like the guys with the RPGs), they game pushes you to play a certain way

i deffinetely have the feeling this game is NOT written by the same people
actually the single player feels kinda cheap compared to crysis1

i play PC

I'm surprised you're struggling so badly, I'm finding the hardest difficulty (superhuman or w/e) fairly easy. I die the odd time because I try to o gung-ho with the Hammer against like 10 guys but all in all, if you play tactfully it's really not a difficult game!

My suggestion. Use cloak more, survey fields with your binocs before going in head first. Keep a silenced SCARAB on hand when you can, and get yourself armor enhance for 100 nanocatalyst!

To be honest, I felt that C1 was also too easy on the hardest level too. IDK what is up with difficulty level in Crysis games but they are just too easy....

either way the difference between easy and hard should be way bigger, easy should be easier, the hard should be harder

Would you rather it be as hard as the original Far Cry was? Still haven't beaten that on the hardest difficulty to this day.

On other note, i never finished Crysis on Delta either..

Not surprisingly I see a lot of gameplay videos, where people run and gun through the levels. I always suggest to go for stealthy approach. Take out as many enemies as possible in stealth, until they ring alarm or you already got past them. Sometimes it's also a good idea to avoid enemies altogether.
