*Temp fix for people who get disconnected from servers*

Post » Wed Dec 30, 2009 10:24 pm

1: turn of all your firewalls, this includes your routers firewall
2: make sure your using a static IP and then log onto your router and put your IP into a DMZ state.
3: in crysis 2 MP browse the servers and filter, make sure you select official and ranked, also select your region.

This has so far worked for me now no issues YET! If your unsure on how to do any of the mentioned above please ask and i will try to help

*EDIT*

For those who are not completely sure on how to do this, i will make a video later today and post the link here

My buddy had this problem, but I didn't. I remembered opening som ports for bad company 2 when I experienced something similar, and asked him to open those ports in case it had something to do with the EA-master servers.

He opened the following ports:

80 TCP
18390 TCP
18395 UDP och TCP
13505 TCP

And didn't have any problem since.

putting your IP in a DMZ state opens all ports, seriously try this dude, but make sure you filter your game searches to official servers only.

I have been having a massive headache whith connecting to crysis 2 servers, this is the only way i found to get it working

Is there a way to explain this for those of us *ahem* me *ahem* that are total noobs when it comes to messing with routers. I don't even know how to look at "ports" let alone what DMZ even is.

I get DC'd all the time and it drives me crazy!

I have the same problem. I unlocked all ports and DMz function is still on.
I chose only ranked servers and my computer have been reeconfigurated.
All drivers are updated (the last one).

first of all make sure your using a static IP, if your not sure on this i would google it as there are lots of threads on this.

open cmd (command prompt) type ipconfig and enter. this will give you your IP and default gateway. take note of these.

the default gateway address is what you need to type in internet explorer (usually 192.168.0.1)

this then takes you to your router homepage, from their you need to go to advanced, and in there its usually inder firewall tab or its own tab.

Enable DMZ and point it to your IP, save the settings then restart router and PC.

Once you have done this all ports should now be open on your pc, just make sure no firewalls are blocking the ports, best way to do this is disable all firewalls that are active, including the one on your router.

I think, it′s not a good idea to turn of the firewall and put your pc in the DMZ.
Normaly NAT is handling this stuff and its enough for gaming.

Sorry for bad english ;)

I know that, DMz function is very dangerous but i want to check every possibility.
Modem of a usual user does not have DMz function, so we are exposed for attack.
I want to do everything untill the moment of publishing by CRYTEK path for deleting my
and other user problem.

The netcode doesn't sit well with many routers. Enabling DMZ will almost always work.

So when I type in ipconfig into the run prompt, the command prompt window pops up for half a second and disappears before I can even do anything. Is this just my computer being idiotic?

Wait, nevermind. I was doing it wrong. Durrrrrrr...

Update:

Now it tells me I have to enter a username and password. I never remember setting anything like this up. Do I need to ask comcast for that info or something?

I connect directly to my modem, so this fix doesn't help. Though after the first night of MP, I haven't had disconnecting problems except once or twice which I think were ISP hiccups that happen on occasion.

Get Strict NAT all the time though, but it doesn't ruin gameplay, I just can't use the quick match feature; which is no problem.

DMZ opens all ports on the router, you set this up by connecting to your router through http:.

For all those who have stated DMZ is dangerouse and leaves you open to threats, i am aware however if you did read the header it does clearly state "temp fix"

Crytek aint helping nobody so i offered a little help and its helped a few people. If you want to moan then throw it cryteks way not mine
