DOES CRYTEK SUPPORT CHEATING?! If not please respond...

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:27 am

There isn't even a way to click on a players name while in the game and report fraudulent activity. There's no kick vote, no nothing. Only an admin tool that server owners have to pay for or so I've heard.

IS THIS BECAUSE CRYTEK IS CREATING CHEATERS ON PURPOSE SO SERVER OWNER'S HAVE TO BUY THEIR ADMIN TOOLS?!!!

This is absolutely repulsive if it is true and if it is the case then Crytek is going to have to take some serious measures to recover from the PR nightmare that is going to come of it. If this is not the case I would like some evidence, such as an estimated release date on an update to fix these issues stated publicly, such as a patch. I would also like these questions answered...

If we have video of people cheating, or anything like that, where do we go to report it?

I've looked around and haven't seen a single anti cheat method being used by Crysis 2. No Hash checks no nothing, nothing to find code between the user and the server that could indicate cheating and remove the player. Why hasn't this been addressed? I've seen over 100 people cheating in under 2 days! If you look at the leaderboard its filled with people who haven't played more than 30 minutes and already have higher scores than exceptional players that have been playing for days.

In a post on the game's official web site, Crytek states, "Rest assured that although the demo does not have these features installed, our team has been working for some time on various anti-cheat measures that have been introduced for the retail release of Crysis 2."

Were these complete lies Crytek? If not, let us see that it is not by giving us a least a thread on the forum to post the names of people cheating and the method of cheating they are using. A sticky thread, at least for now to give some of the players who are dealing with this nightmare some sense of being able to make a difference. There should be a sticky thread in Crysis 2 PC Discussions, PS3 Discussions, Multiplayer Support, ETC.

My point is that how are any of us suppose to know if they don't tell us they are working on it! You're damn right "HATE" I AM BEYOND PISSED OFF.

Why? Well, not so much because of my frustrations but because of all the other people out their, mostly kids looking for an escape from the cruelness of their lives in a game that they can enjoy turning into something filled completely with the same stuff that sickens them about life. I just talked to a customer support agent for EA, I was completely friendly the whole time and I ask him what the people playing the game can do about other people cheating. He said you can right click on the other players name and report them for fraudulent activity, which is completely untrue. Then I said no that is not possible, and he said, "Oh, well try asking some other players about how to do this." I acutally waited almost an hour for this person to assist ME. Then he says "Well I don't really know much about the game because I've only played it for about 30 minutes."

I haven't even begun to express my anger and disappointment in this game. I PAID, PREPADE for a game that isn't even finished! Money out of my pocket, then I spent a whole day playing multiplayer, getting upgrades rewards etc. Just to have the game crash on me and lose the entire days work by having everything revert back to default. On top of that the game is filled with bugs, cheaters, and flat out complete blatent programing mistakes as if they released the game without even playing it! If this company is an honest one, which I doubt if any company making this kind of money will ever be, then I would completely support them and go around talking about how great they are but they have to inspire some bit of confidence in me that they follow through on their promises.

Sorry if you feel this way.

We do not support cheating in any format and work is being made towards preventing any form of cheating in Crysis 2. We actually have a short statement on this already which can be found in our update thread (stickied at the very top of the forums);

http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=16516

You should keep an eye on that for future updates like announcements and patch info.

It's making me sick that I look around on this forum and see literally hundreds of posts of people who have been having problems with people cheating and I havent seen a single post or Thread by anyone with Crytek about this being resolved until now, thanks Cry-Tom. I'm very glad to see that finally someone who works for a living found my thread and gave me some comfort, there are literally thousands of other players out there looking for that. So I would suggest putting that Sticky topic at the top of the PC Discussions, PS3 Discussions, and Multiplayer Support threads. Thank you Cry-Tom.

Cheating in any game is freaking sad... Modern warfare- quit playing cause of hackers, modern warfare 2, quit playing cause of hackers, crysis 2- IMO more fun than both but i cant play with hackers

Hey JonDumela,

We have a sticky at the top of the PC one with all our updates including the statement I linked to you. In the console forums we also have stickied threads reporting issues so people know we're aware of them.

We're also going to update our forums to make it a little easier to find our posts. Hopefully then people can find the replies they feel they're not getting now.

That's exactly what this thread was about: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=14266

You kind of said it yourself; there is so much traffic here that our replies disappear in minutes and it appears as though we're not posting. We are :) As Tom said, measures are being put in place to make it easier to find our responses so we can avoid these problems in future.

Cheers!

I know a lot of people would be happy when they can more easily see that Crytek does have some responses on the forums too, but honestly, the site has much bigger issues than making staff posts more obvious. I'd be much happier if I could even attempt to enter my LE code and can't even get that far.
I run my own websites and I'm aware that things here are much more complicated and interlinked with other services. I also know that it says BETA at the top... but it has been BETA since the site was opened years ago. One would have thought that by the release of Crysis2 the site should be functional.

Nonetheless, it is good to see staff pop in and out of topics here and there. I still have great confidence in Crytek and I'm sure none of the current issues were intended, nor were missing features or functionality a choice Crytek made.

Just keep us in the loop. ;)

PS: oops... should have removed that link when I quoted that other post, huh? :D

Umm I linked neither hacks or hack websites and I'm not even sure what you mean by reference hacks when the video is demonstration of how it is possible to just change client side setting and have it apply to multiplayer sessions (without actually showing you how to do it, it just shows you what the gameplay looks like when you do it).

There is a whole freaking thread based on the video I linked so I'm not sure what I violated exactly to warrant the post removed like that.

Showing what can be done, can cause some losers to think they need it too to play better. You're putting a kid in a candy store but expect him to be smart enough not to ask for any.

Again there is a whole thread with the same video linked.

http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=16339

And the video doesn't even show HOW to do this. And it's way too late for the whole "let's not talk about cheating to prevent cheating" when it's so rampant. This is the only multiplayer game I have played where I can find more than one cheater in a day every day (besides from WoW botting in BGs).
