So a good German friend of mine was telling me "Pfff, dont buy Crysis 2 its uber crap, it dont even have DX11 support" and there I was, in a local store overlooking games they have to offer when I saw Crysis 2. It was at an affordable price and I thought to my self "I got the money to burn, why not support Crytek?"... They usually make some nice "high tech games"...
Normally all good intentions comes back and bite you in the ass. The irony here is that I came to complain before I even started to play the gam and the first thing I see on the forums: Cheater complains... Glad I bought Crysis 2 only for the sake of single player then?
I am here not only due to the lack of DX11 support and native 64bit support.
(judging by the rumours 64bit support was taken out from the game for some odd reason).
But also because of how "registering of your game" was made. Crytek have something to learn from DICE, you bind your CD key to your account, not to... Well, something! xD
The third issue, is: Options -> Graphics...
Now am no noob, I know there is text files and stuff that can be edited to change visuals, but only 4 options? Thats pretty lame for a Crytek game.
The game does not even accept a simple ALT + F4!
Or how about a simple "CREATE A SHORT-CUT ON MY DESKTOP"? Oh yeah, consoles dont have desktops >.<
So much for "Crytek makes high tech games" legend. But hey, I hope you are making EA happy by selling well on Consoles and I mean REALLY WELL.
PS.
CryEngine 3 looks good, but not as impressive as FrostBite 2.
Hell, the last preview of updated unrealEngine 3 was most impressive.
