Overall Weird-ness

First off, I'll list my system specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Quad-core 3.2ghz
ASUS M4N82 Deluxe AM3/AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI
8GB Gskill DDR2 800
2x GTX 260 Core 216 superclocked 896MB 448-bit in SLI
1000W Modular Kingwin Power Supply SLI ready

Got the game the day it came out, ran it for the first time with EVGA precision for in-game FPS on screen and got about 15-20FPS up until the scene where your above the water after the sub explosion locked up. Went onto these forums and saw the thread about Multi-GPU flickering and found a link to the EVGA SLI enhancement patch which I Downloaded and it seemed to work, inconsistently that is. I would play for about 10 mins or so getting 40-70+ FPS then it would all slow down again to 15FPS. I went and deleted all kinds of programs I dont need or use anymore, got rid of system processes in the background and finally I was about to play for a good couple of hours with no problem. Well except, sometimes with I would die, I could no longer melee for some reason. I should also point out that I am using an xbox360 controller and my LG 32' LCD TV in a resolution of 1920X1080. But not being able to melee really svcks, it wont work on the keyboard either. And now... more slow down. I also saw on the previous thread about going into the nvidia control panel and changing the 3d settings to 'Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2 for %50 usage on both GPUs" I had noticed that the first card was doing about %80-90 usage compared to the %20 of the other. This worked! or it seemed, now I still experiencing slow down from great 90-120FPS indoors and 40-70FPS outside to the sudden slow down of 15-20FPS and sometimes even 5fps. I am out of ideas at this point. ANY advice is seroiusly appreciated! I should also mention that I can play the first Crysis in DX10 at max settings (very high) at the same resolution with a steady framerate of 35-40FPS. As well as other games such as Oblivion, Stalker and etc.

i have the very same issue but have NOT tested your recommendation:

"I also saw on the previous thread about going into the nvidia control panel and changing the 3d settings to 'Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2 for %50 usage on both GPUs" I had noticed that the first card was doing about %80-90 usage compared to the %20 of the other. "

I'd like to test that tonight after work. I have also tried different combinations of settings in the 3D settings in Nvidia Control Panel. Additionally, I've used the Crysis2AdvancedGraphicsOptions.exe featured in this forum. See the autoexec.bat:

sys_spec_shading=4
sys_spec_gameeffects=4
sys_spec_objectdetail=4
sys_spec_particles=4
sys_spec_physics=4
sys_spec_postprocessing=2
sys_spec_shadows=4
sys_spec_sound=4
sys_spec_texture=4
sys_spec_water=4
g_skipIntro=1
cl_fov=55
pl_movement.power_sprint_targetFov=55
i_mouse_accel=0
i_mouse_accel_max=100
i_mouse_smooth=0
r_motionblur=0
g_radialBlur=1
cl_zoomToggle=0
r_UseEdgeAA=3
r_TexMaxAnisotropy=16
r_PostMSAA=2
cl_crouchtoggle=0
r_ColorGrading=1
r_SSAO=1
r_VSync=0
e_shadows=1
g_enableInitialLoginScreen=0
r_HDRBloomMul=0
r_HDRBrightLevel=0
r_FSAA=1
r_MultiGPU=1
g_useHitSoundFeedback=0

During gameplay (1920x1080, VSync off, Extreme), I too see 99% utilization on GPU1 and ~ 20-40% at times for GPU2. (Using EVGA Precision 2.0.2). I'll be cruising along around 30-40 fps and then everything immediately slows to ~ 10-15 fps.

My specs:

Q9650 @ 3.7 on air
8GB DDR2800 stock
XFX 750i
2 EVGA GTX260 SLI (EVGA Precision 732, 1578, 1233, 80), Forceware 266.58
Coolmax 1000W PSU

I also grabbed some additional testing settings using an Nvidia SLI profile tool and sli.txt here:

Jeez you really need 1000 watt psu for such a cheap card? You're gonna kill your system one day.

Well here are my results:

I used all the methods posted in this thread and WAS able to push both the second GPU in-line with the 1st GPU's usage. They are both DEFINITELY being taken advantage of now....However, I've introduced the flickering issue shown by tons of other people on this forum. But now I have ~60-65 fps!
