DX11 in 2-3 months

Just an FYI.

I don't really care anymore if they even implement DX11 into the game. I just hope that the patches this week fix all the major issues with SP and MP.

Exactly.

I can't wait to receive an answer from Crytek even if it's just a "No."... I just want to know FFS!

I know. I just found that and thought i'd post it.

I don't know what to believe anymore since last weeks rumors and what not although I'm just taking in this info as a grain of salt.

I speculate that IF they do release DX11, it'll be near Battlefield 3's release but then again, this is MY own speculation.

That is perfectly understandable...........milking DLC take precedence over developing a decent pc game

Nice reliable source... This is like taking a random source from a webpage you googled and using it as a source in a research paper. If it isnt a direct source then you shouldnt be taking it seriously or even using it. Stop posting BS like this.

It makes since and largely confirms what a lot of ppl have said. That crysis 2 on pc is largely a console port. The poor textures in the game tell a lot of the story and the leaked version may have been someones attempt at outing what crytek was doing in regards to crysis 2 being a ported version of the 360 game.

The most disturbing part about all of this is crytek's silence on the matter leaving everyone to speculate in the first place.

All crytek has to do to fix this is tell us its gonna take a few months to implement and then post some vids of what we will see in the dx11 version. If they can wow us with the vids then ppl will be willing to wait. But this constant silence will just make ppl lose interest and when and if that patch finally comes ppl may just simply not care. They would have moved on by then.

That depends is it DX11 DLC. And how good does it look? There's no way we've heard the last of the new Cryengine Sandbox on PC they need to maximise ROI and to do that they need to pony up for DX11.

Or as they say in Portugal

VocĂȘ n?o pode receber leite de uma acalefa

You can't milk a jellyfish.

"The source also claimed that DirectX 10 will not be supported in future, as it's rendered obsolete by DirectX 11."

That right there tells you the article is 100% bullcrap.

The DX11 API is nearly 90% identical with the DX10 API. DX11 was designed to be backwards compatible with DX10 in nearly all of its features. As a result, a game implementing DX11 will ALSO be using DX10 to it's FULLEST capabilities. DX11 in the simplest terms is little more than a service pack to DX10.

There is only 1 game in existence which had DX11 support without DX10 support - that being DIRT2. The game had to be programmed to specifically lock out DX10 features from the DX11 API which not only makes very little sense, but ended up being a pain to program, and saw no benefits in terms of graphics or performance. The reason why this was done was because Codemasters was paid off by ATI to lock out DX10 to boost the sales of their new DX11 cards.

Unless the 2mil nvidia invested in Crysis 2 is the cause of all this, it is not economical, practical, easy, nor helpful to make a game for DX11 without including DX10. It's so hard, it's next to impossible (but that might explain why it's taking so long.)

who would want to drink jellyfish milk?

Anyways I do agree a video with high rez textures and all dx11 glory would go a long way in appeasing the masses but I am naive to assume common sense reigns in crytek's liar

If it's a "No" than they are gunna have some serious problems on thier hands because this game was advertised as a Dx11 game. I sure hope they get the balls sue'd off of them.

only way to get an official statement about this is to spam this news and either they will start deleting threads all over or they simply stay quite which means it has a good chance to be true

Who wants DX9 DLC? Thats why it's a metaphor, and because the PC community will sting you just like a jellyfish if you try to sell it before releasing the DX11 patch.

But more importantly it's just a ridiculous sounding statement and thats what I was really aiming for.

Well, if this is true, and this is the time I'm forced to wait, this is my last Crytek game. Not because DX11 didn't come @ launch, but because they've been hiding/avoiding the big question since launch.

They've failed to deliver customer satisfaction.
