The security patch needs to drop like yesterday!

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 8:00 am

The community is running away from this game and for good reason. No one likes playing on a uneven playing field! Release a fix everyday if you have to till the problems are ironed out. It sure would keep the crackers busy if every time they started cracking new code, a updated patch was released. Plus it would make the community feel like you are in touch. Win/Win

What anticheat system? how a 2011 MP game can be released without the smallest anticheat protection?

If the patch this week doesn't cover anti-cheat, I'm done with this game and **** Crytek with all it's future DLCs and Crysis 3, they'll never see my money ever again. Hope any PC gamer with the smallest shred of intelligence does the same because releasing a completely unfinished product like this is inexcusable, releasing it without any kind of copy and hack protection whatsoever in the multiplayer, is a deal-breaker and embarassing for the company. If I'd known this before buying, I'd never have bothered to do it.

Crytek pulled an IW on us like they did with MW2, but at least that one had a working Multiplayer component, and better. And they made us use the retarded console P2P system ffs, so that's something.

One of my casual friend asked "how c2 multy? I want to play it but i dont want to pay for it!"
i replyed " you cant pirate online games, you have to buy a copy of it.."

I felt "dirty"! lieing to my friend... lol

WTF a 2011 MP whitout any protection? Really no words..

Kupp has a point here. If the security holes are not fixed and pirates are able to play MP freely then this will be a massive blow to the community, and a mark of shame for EA/Crytek no doubt.

IMO, the patch should of already been released. Middle of the week is a good time to release a patch. That way, if a problem arises you have time to get it fixed before the weekend hit's (when most people play and maybe when the dev's get a couple days off).

It should of been standard from the start. Any competitive FPS game with a rank mode, but that just makes to much sense!

I am kinda mystified on how they could not anticipate this problem. From the few post I have read on the issue, it's child's-play to hack this game and does not require much knowledge.

I think they never worked on an anticheat system of any sort prior to the game's release. I think they released all the versions, without anticheat, fully knowing the pc community would literally explode once the cheating became rampant and out of control. Even knowing this, they released the game with the intention of creating an anticheat system after the fact and as a patch item. I also believe the anticheat won't be out this week due to this as well.

untill today i didnt realise how easy it was to cheat on the multiplayer! i havent tried it, because its just pointless to play a ranked game cheating, no gain if it can just be clicked "won".
i dont make games but its obvious on how it works that people were going to cheat! leaving allllll the files needed to play the game ready to be ripped apart on the peoples machines and no checks to make sure there all legit!
ive read somewhere that the anti cheat system is disabled while they iron out the bugs for the code system as its all linked.
but what happens when they fix it? do the people on level 9 billion keep their level and raqe all the people who are working there way up normally?!
or does every1 get set back to level 0, as someone suggested may or should happen!!
im exceptionally fussy about online mp games, crysis 2 was the first one ive actually enjoyed sine the original left 4 dead came out, so im proper gutted that ive spent money on it, got the tower ready for it, sat down and seen the kill cam view of someone with a million degree field of view, shooting any gun they feel cloacked, no energy drail, constant nano vision and head shots to die for!!!
send me some crysis 2 code, ill write the damn anti cheat system myself if it comes to it! i dont know how to, but it surely cant be any worse than the "dont be naughty, please" cheat system already in place!
arrrgh! vent over!!

I agree. I for one, will not be playing this game again, and quite frankly, likely after all the f*cking hacks have been patched out. Bad form, crytek

And if you look on gamesas' homepage you see no mention of this issue. It should be a very hot topic, seeing as so many are upset about the hackers/cheaters. I feel sorry for those just now picking up the game. There first impression of multi-player is going to be terrible!
