When I am on a server playing a game. Whether It be single player, Co-operative or competitive multiplayer. Even doing challenges, if I press F1, Esc, L or any other button that opens a menu accidentally or deliberate. There is no button to click with my mouse to close the menu's. Only to navigate backwards and forwards.
The problem being, when a meny is open, for some reason my keyboard stops working.
My keyboard has a wire and is PS2 not USB. (or whatever the little round connection with pins in it is called).
With the keyboard not working on menu's it is physicaly impossible to close the menu's after they have been opened.
The bigger problem being, between all my friends that have bought this game and want to play it with me, the only person capable of hosting a game is me, nobody can connect tot he rest of my friends, so every time I accidentally open a menu I am either forced to close my game and restart the server. Or sit with a menu on my screen unable to move. Can't jump, run, crouch, shoot, turn my camera ot anything because i'm "in a menu" and can't close it.
When I host a game for co-op, making it private, supposedly so nobody can find my game, I still get people connecting to me, which makes everybody except me lag really badly. I can't put a password onto my servers due to the menu errors, there is no way to exit the password box using the mouse and as stated before the keyboard won't work.
Now. My keyboard obviously works outside of the game, as I am typing this message, and it works to an extent where I can p lay, run around, jump up and down. But without being able to use the menu's it is hard to play. Only the menu's mess with my keyboard.
Every time I verify the game games files with steam it downloads exactly 664 bytes, Not Kb, Mb or Gb, but bytes. the smallest from of the 8 bit binary code.
I uninstalled my Anti-Virus to test that it wasn't the Anti-vuris quarantining anything. And I turned off my firewall and entered my PC into a DMZ through my router so my computer had absolutely no protection what-so-ever. But with this not fixing any of my issues I had to re-install and turn everything back on. You know, with the internet being the most un-safe place in the world for people trying to steal things from you and all.
So if anybody has any ideas or knows a solution to my problem, me and my friends would be very happy to hear from you.
