In the part where you have to defend the Central station from enemies, including a heavy, I emptied out the HMG and it didn't die, I was on critical health and as it came near where I was hiding I meleed it and it died

ehmm yes and what is epic of that? do a 17 time kill streak like i do, then you can tell the world.. but this... is definitly not EPIC

I didn't play on post human just one below but I actually always kill aliens with melee including the heavies. Why you might ask? Because it's simpler really if you are out of explosives. Killed the first heavy you encounter with melee and pretty much any heavy I encountered in an environment that allows kiting.

I mean kill from 100 to 0 with melee. Ain't that hard.
