Legit Question

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:39 pm

This may or may not have been asked before, I wouldn't know so please don't blame me for posting this.

Is there any word on Crytek removing or resetting the people who cheated their way to the top of the high-scores.
At least 200+ people(probably a lot more, I just stopped at about 200) cheated their way up...it's not fair to the legitimate players who have earned their experience properly.

Over a billion exp and a few minutes to a couple of hours of play seems to be proof enough to remove them.

TBH if you are so worried about were you are placed in the leader boards you may want to get a console game.

Firstly, that is one the stupidest replies I've ever read; associating worrying about leader-boards to getting a console game instead is the stupidity I would expect from a console player.

Second, I am not "worried," (although I can't deny a bit annoyed by the fact that people cheated their way) I like to consider myself competitive and knowing where I stand among the crowd which has been *compromised* by cheaters.

Third, to hell with consoles and lowered standards.

Theyve removed them about 3x already so it has been done. They just keep hacking their way back up, but there are much fewer now. I think theres only around top 60ish people that have their ranks due to hacks

Honestly, what does it matter? They cheat they get banned, and you complain because they're still on the leader-boards? It's a useless arbitrary value assigned for doing make believe things in a make believe world... It's not that big a deal... Don't you get more satisfaction from you knowing you're kicking everyone's a** than you do from having no-one look at your pretty name of some list? The only people who care about leader boards are the people looking for their own name, you're not showing off to anyone since no-one actually takes 5 minutes to read it. You get nothing out of having them removed.

You have a point about the satisfaction of actually kicking butt in game.
And I am actually referring to the people using the XML file to raise their XP up really high, not the people actually using hacks. Although I wouldn't know if there is a hack that actually does that too.
But still, I see the leader-board not as "I'm better than you all," but more along the lines of "this is the effort I have put into the game." I am not sure what is with peoples hate for the leader boards at all.

Let me educate you a little because your comment is flawed.

1) I DO NOT OWN A CONSOLE!
2) The reason i said it was because consoles are not hacked to often for leader boards so there is no reason to "WORRY" about it.
3) "WORRY" was the appropriate word because this "CONCERNS" you. Look in a thesaurus once in a while.

Okay, have to admit I made a mistake and misunderstood your statement. I am just so used to seeing people meaning it like I had originally thought; I jumped the gun there. I apologize for that.

lucky for you i am a forgiving person :)

I would not recommend a console to someone unless it offered something that PC does not, and in this case it is the lack of hackers/pirates/cheaters.

easy guys. :)

lelouchvib, all we've heard so far is that the are working on anti-cheat code. They released a patch last week with some. It helped, but it didn't solve it. They really need to let folks manage their own servers with tools that let Admins watch player, record their actions and report them to like Punkbuster.
