Movie "Skyline" takes alien concepts from Crysis!

Post » Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:32 pm

Last Night I watched the movie Skyline for the first time. Is it just me or does most of the Alien life in the movie highly resemble the ones in Crysis 1&2? Besides the fact that the lifeforms in Skyline use human brains as their life force, there is little difference. Anyone see this movie and what do they think? Total rip off!

Watching this movie just made me realize how incredible a Crysis movie would be....

What are you saying?
Skyline chips and story are different from crysis 2. There were no nanocostumes, there were human consumption for some sort of symbiotic bounds. And in crysis 2 aliens wouldn't recover when they dead.
All the film is different from crysis. AND!!! It's just another film for "the end of the world" theme OR "alien invasion", but with present film-making technology.

LOL!

Easy there buddy! Was strictly referring to the look. Looks like there designs were taken directly from Crysis and Warhead. With a giant budget like Skyline had, a Crysis movie would be epic!

Good god people. Im not talking about the story! I have seen hundreds of Alien movies yes...ok....check!

Im talking about the resemblance in the aliens themselves. Watch the movie and tell me they dont look almost identical to Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead.

What is up with people posting when they dont even understand what the post is about?

EMUL870R, seems you are the only one who even understands what im talking about. So Ill just be happy that I got one person who agrees with me :)

Lets all just move on now!

Correction, they use human brains to convert/assimilate them into their own army of soldiers

You just now noticing that? I noticed that a long time ago when I first saw the "movie previews" .. I was thinking how those's aliens in "Skyline" looked like the aliens in the first "Crysis"...

It's almost like it's partly a combination of the first and second Crysis.. the aliens look simular to the ones in the first Crysis, but they've also invaded a city like in Crysis 2. Then the fact it's named "Skyline" and Crysis 2 has a "Skyline" map... lol?

That movie btw was a let down, but had great visuals. If the story line was better it would've been great, cause the special effects were nice.. plus it ended stupidly. I wonder what "Battle Los Angelos" was like? Anyone see it? What's up with all these alien movies invaded the earth lately? It began with "Independence Day" .. then a pause for a few years, then "Section 8", then "Skyline", then "Battle Los Angelos"

The aliens are similar but not the same. If you don't see that then maybe not I'm dumbass? Maybe you dumbass?
There a loot off films about alliens, but SKYLINE was made with present movie-technology, that's why they can allow themselves huge effects and good models of aliens.
Or maybe you will say that all Sci-fi octopus films were made from crysis?:D
That will be silly.
That film is just another alien film with aliens like octopus.

But I will be glad to hear that someone making the film from crysis. And I don't heard about it yet.

Watching this movie just made me realize how incredible a Crysis movie would be....I noticed that too, was talking to my Sisters's Boyfriend about it and showed him a picture of some of the aliens, and he agreed to. Especially the the ones that flew in Crysis 1 with the 4 tentacles in the back and the scanner in the front with the fat head, totally a rip off.

And I love all the people raging in this post, love these forums. So many mature people who can hold a logical and mature mannered conversation with other humans. Grow up people.

Skyline svcked anyway. "it's a **** alien invasion! but lets rather be shocked you are having an affair...". one more thing. i bet most people have seen the matrix? the AI sentinels looks awfully like the alien scouts from crysis don't they, but would not say that crytek copied it...

Look at the new Transformers 3 trailer released today.

C'mon, Michael Bay played Crysis 2 some months ago. Feels like a Crysis movie.

MAXIMUM lawsuit ^^.

This picture make me think about a Duke Nukem quote: " Your an inspiration for birth control".

You know, videogames are very inspired from films for design to. But in the case of Skyline it's a bit obvious that the character designer is a Crysis fanboy.
