So you want this game to be like Halo?
yes XD

not really but to the people who played the first game (that mean american dude thought i was talking about the first demo) armor mode actually was armor which was cool, also in the nanosuit showroom its shows the armor taking damage without the hud going red so in that video it shows what armor should be but now itss just meant to protectyou a bit from explosions... i mean u have a better chance of surviving if you save energy for sprint and the bum slide that walking slowly... if armor gets made stronger then stealth kills will be very effective so it sorta balances out

the first game was brilliant...(mp nanosuit functions worked properly etc)

I've heard how the multiplayer Armor is set up and I think its pretty silly, It should be like SP and something like 10 Scar shots will drain energy.

Besides, ~The gauss attatchments, Gauss Rifle, and K-Volt are basically Anti Armor guns, And you don't see these in use that often do you? Making Armor mode actually provide you with Armor in exchange for suit energy will make this game see more variety in weapon use.

if the armor was like in sp or the showroom it would be great! i don't see any of those (although i do use the gauss atachment for exp) and the gauss rifle is a one shot kill weapon, i agree with the weapon variety mode as ppl either use the scar or scarab... i never saw a sniper or smg in my 4 hrs of online....

@TwistedBuddhaX - Sorry but I thought you would have understood my reasons for wanting more armour.

I have put armour v non-armour, i.e. normal strength mode to the test several times now, and I cant see the difference with regard to being hit via normal weapons fire, at close range I still die in under a second, 2 or 3 rounds will kill me either way.

Feline kill’s the quickest, next is Scar and the MK.60 being the slowest firing weapon takes the longest, different weapons have different effects. Close range Shotgun, instant kill, Sniper’s the usual and melee I’m not sure about, I always end up on the other side of my target and have to 180, I think it’s a collision problem.

I’m now rank 28 I think and I see no differences between armour and non-armour with regards to weapons fire.

Armour will give protection against grenades and so on, unless the blast radius is less than 3 meter in which case you’re dead, which is fine.

I’m sorry I don’t have time right now, when I get back tonight I will reply to each of your points in this reply.

As promised:

1) We Would then need more ammunition to compensate for increased armor

I don’t think this is a problem, if armour was increased by 25%, then instead of using up 5-10 rounds to kill you would simply use 7-13 rounds. 50% armour increase would mean you use 8-15 rounds.

A single round to the head would still = instant kill. You can run over similar weapons lying around to replenish ammo, and you have two ammo perks as well, one allows you to carry an extra clip, the other turns a 40 clip mag into a 50 clip mag.

2) If we don't get an increase in ammo it would then force people to use SCAR for increased damage, making the game one-dimensional.

I don’t think C2 will ever be one dimensional, there are two many different ways it could be played. People will always pick their own weapons depending on how well it works for them.

Different weapons will always be used for different game styles. The feline has a faster fire rate and causes more damage up close than the Scar does.

We have the Faster Fire Rate perk, the Shot from the Hip perk, carry Two Primary Weapons perk, Faster Reload perk and the Reduced Recoil/Increased Accuracy while iron sighting perk. Anyone of these perks combined with the right weapons can solve this problem.

2) people would survive more grenades thus making them useless. This would also make Crash Site less difficult and dynamic. I like dodging grenades and Defensive killing with only a sliver of health, that's the excitement, THE CHALLENGE.

Sounds like fun, has anyone asked for reduced grenade damage, I got the impression only weapons fire was the problem. I think if a Grenade, RPG or C4 explodes within a certain distance from you it should be an instant kill, full armour or not. I think it’s about 3-4 meters, which is fine by me.

I would imagine that the dev could easily program reduced weapons fire damage while in armour into the game, without affecting grenades, RPG’s and C4 damage.

3) It would force you to always use armor in a gunfight (FORCE YOU!) even when you have the drop on them.

Not really, there are three drawbacks to using armour, first is the reduced movement speed, second you are illuminated and can easily be seen, and the third is it takes three or four seconds to activate fully.

My experience is that if you have the drop on some one or vice-versa, then it’s all over, no worries. When you start to take hits, you suffer increased power loss and further loss of movement, the more hits you take the worse it all gets till your dead.
All increased armour would do is, increase your chances to fight back, you would not have to use armour to defeat armour.

Armour is a defensive weapon, a last chance to survive a bad situation. How often have I spawned right into an ongoing fire fight and had on cover what so ever.

4) Double, triple kills+ would be more difficult! Clip size would not be large enough to kill more than 2 people at once. At the moment you can kill about 2 people who are armored per clip which is reasonable.

Perks can increase your clip size, but then most kills are single kills, you would still get you kills, you’ll just have to work a little harder to get them, think of the challenge.

5) With the lag we sometimes have it takes a full clip sometimes to kill someone, with increased lag do we really need to put a clip in them plus our secondary's clip? NO. Absurd.

The problem with lag is this, what you’re looking at is not necessarily the real situation.
Here’s an example, I was cloaked, I seen these two guys in a fire fight, one dies so I clock the other and open fire, he’s not moving and I’m not getting any hit indication, so I stop only to see him vanish, not cloak just vanish.

Then he reappears on the other side of the street, so I start to open fire with the rest of my clip, and I’m dead. My first impression is he’s using a lag switch, but then I see the death cam and lucky for me I died from a head wound and it’s in slow motion.

The shot that killed me came from behind and what I now see in slow motion is myself trying to shot some guy who had already jumped and was flying through the air to the other side of the road, all in slow motion. What I thought I was shooting at was no longer there. If you suffer lag then compensate or just pray you get lucky.

I have been a crytek fan since farcry, I have faith that they will sort out this problem, may take awhile, but they have never given up in the past. Always live in hope, you’ll be happier.

I will reply to each of your points, as you are one of very few that actually put thought into it.

1) So you don't see that someone taking more bullets is a problem. That if it went to 8-15 from 8-10 then that's ok.

I don't see this as ok. Considering players move, it takes more ammunition to kill someone and the lag. I think it would take more than 8-15 bullets to kill your enemy. Let's take this scenario;

I see an enemy in armor, I shot. 6-7 bullets into him, usually with normal armor he would have died but because now he can take 8-15 he then sees me and moves or jumps. I'm still firing and now missing because he's changed position, wasting more ammo momentarily before I get back on target. There is lag, as always so not all bullets are registering = wasting more ammo. If he doesn't get a couple of lucky headshots and I've survived I have close to no ammo and would need to reload. By this time I am being attacked by his teammate, I swap to secondary but I am now weakened by my previous opponent and now have to kill this other full health guy with armor while he has a superior primary weapons. This situation becomes absurd very quickly.

I then somehow survive both encounters and perhaps another and now I need more ammo. Half the time the weapon you walk over won't give you ammo, even of the same type for some reason and some enemies won't drop the weapon or you can't see it anywhere. If you can see it you have to look at it in a very specific way and angle to pick it up. Wasting more time, increasing chances of being killed.

Using Ammo pack would be annoying, the other modules in the Power slots are a lot better.

2) I agree with you that not everyone would use a SCAR. I don't know why I posted that I was blatantly talking nonsense. My apologies.

3) Ok I didn't realize that you didn't want explosive damage to change. I agree on this. But then you say you would want explosive damage to be an instant kill with or without armor which is contradictory to what you just said as you just said you didn't want explosive damage to change??

I don't think that explosive damage should be one-hit kill with armor, it p****s me off enough to get killed by random grenades without armor as it is, not with armor as well. Lastly, I don't agree with reduced bullet damage for the same reasons as I stated in 1).

5) Clip size with extended mags is not enough to compensate for my points raised in 1) and No to making it harder to kill opponents by increased armour, I've already explained why. Getting double/triples kills are good they way they are, sporadic and in the right doses.

6) I agree with you about the lag, all in all it's a joke.

1) So you don't see that someone taking more bullets is a problem. That if it went to 8-15 from 8-10 then that's ok.
Sorry I don’t, I often use more rounds than that to kill cloaked opponents depending on their distance and speed from me.
I nearly have my 1000 kills with the SCAR, this weapon holds 40 rounds standard and a clip is emptied in just over 3 seconds I think. That’s about 12 rounds per second.

Recoil is high on the SCAR, so without the iron-sight perk to reduce recoil, long to mid range kills could take a whole clip if not more, short burst reduce this and help of course if you have the time, close range takes 10 – 15 rounds, that’s about 1 second in real time.

Now I have only used the Feline, once or twice, but I believe it’s a medium to short range weapon, it holds 50 rounds and will possibly discharge in just over 2.5 seconds , I think its safe to say about 18 – 20 rounds per second. It also has less recoil and is more accurate close range.

Put it this way, close up the feline owned me almost every time due to the fast fire rate. Also what I’m trying to say is, it doesn’t matter what they change, because players who want to play will always adapt, change tactics and find a better way to win the fight.

I don't see this as ok. Considering players move, it takes more ammunition to kill someone and the lag. I think it would take more than 8-15 bullets to kill your enemy. Let's take this scenario;

I see an enemy in armor, I shot. 6-7 bullets into him, usually with normal armor he would have died but because now he can take 8-15 he then sees me and moves or jumps. If you can see it you have to look at it in a very specific way and angle to pick it up. Wasting more time, increasing chances of being killed.
This happens to me all the time, but I have learned to change my secondary for the primary of my first victim, it’s faster the change weapons than reload.

Using Ammo pack would be annoying, the other modules in the Power slots are a lot better.
I agree, I would never waste a perk on an ammo pack, when there are others more urgently needed. I wish we could use two perks per mode, i.e. two power perks, two stealth and two armour perks.

2) I agree with you that not everyone would use a SCAR. I don't know why I posted that I was blatantly talking nonsense. My apologies.
No apology needed, the scar is one of the first to unlock and is very popular.

3) Ok I didn't realize that you didn't want explosive damage to change. I agree on this. But then you say you would want explosive damage to be an instant kill with or without armor which is contradictory to what you just said as you just said you didn't want explosive damage to change??
I am sure with armour on, if the grenade explodes within 3 meters of you it will kill you. Outside this radius you only take splash damage. I have been killed by grenades while sprinting without the armour at 5 – 6 meters, because I was moving that fast I thought I would be safe, I was wrong. I dont have a problem with this, most the time If I can, I'll run from a nad.

I don't think that explosive damage should be one-hit kill with armor, it p****s me off enough to get killed by random grenades without armor as it is, not with armor as well. Lastly, I don't agree with reduced bullet damage for the same reasons as I stated in 1).

I understand your reasons, but I still feel for players such as yourself, you will not find it hard to kill with extra armour added.

For me at the moment, I don’t see the differences with or without armour, I die just as easily with or without it and in the same amount of time. Close up three, four rounds and I’m dead, also while I’m being hit at close range, I suffer mobility loss, I cant jump or move very far at all.

Now I am not sure if this is lag, the game effects, or perhaps my power is completely drained due to damage. I never have time to look at my power bar while I am trying to survive. All I see is red, hear really load thuds and die.

I really don’t think armour is stopping any rounds at all, one person who posted here got it right, he/she said that armour should be depleted before health was used up. If this was happening you would be hearing the thuds of being shot, then when you power hits zero you would then start to see the blood on the screen, I feel this is how armour should be. At the moment I hear the thuds and see red at the same time, then I die in under a second, this is the case with or without armour.

I don’t want armour to be like a tank, taking round after round. I just want it to double my life span and give me a chance to fight back.

6) I agree with you about the lag, all in all it's a joke.
Cheers. Hope this helps.

Armor needs more meat. It needs to protect from Rifle rounds and shotguns rounds. It shows in the video on the game that the guy takes a direct turret round with max armor activated and just flinches back. Thats how it should be. I do too easily with max armor when my energy is max. So armor mode needs the meat.

yup people who never played the 1st one say armor doesn't need to be actual armor... probably cause they are used to killing with a short burst or something...probably afraid their k/d would go down or something... make crysis crysis again!
