Maybe they cant fix it?

Ive been lurking in these forums for the past 2 or 3 weeks, every day hoping, praying to the gaming gods that there will be news of a patch only to be disappointed every time i log on.

I was really looking forward to this game. I thought it looked and sounded amazing which is why i bought it on day 1.
On my first play through i loved it. It lived up to almost all of my expectations but i had noticed a few minor bugs.
Once i had finished the campaign i came here to see if i was the only one experiencing these bugs only to find, to my utter horror, it was even worse than i imagined!
The grain bug for example...i thought it was part of the game on my first play through...something to do with the suit becoming more of a sentient being or some thing.
But no..it was a horrible, horrible bug which should never have made it past beta testing!
Then i found out about the horrid lag problems in multiplayer that i had been having. I thought at first it was just me being a bad player when id unload a full mag into someone only to have them turn round and look at me and i'd end up dieing.

After further research i found out about all the other horrible bugs and over time saw how useless the developer has been with updating the community.

So that got me thinking...maybe C2 was such a hassle to even get running on consoles that maybe they cant fix it?
I mean seriously how long has it been now since the games release? Surely youd think thered be some kind of fix by now?
Since there isnt that just backs up my claim. I blame EA personally. I think they pressured Crytek into releasing the game too soon and didnt give them enough time to fully polish the console versions of the game, thus being forced to release an unfinished port, and now because of that they cant actually fix the game or get it to the standard they wanted because its already out there and patches can only do so much.

Im not sure how the development process works entirely so i might just be talking out of my ass but thats what i think. Feel free to correct me if im wrong.

Such a tragedy in either case, as this game could (and should) have been something truly special. Everytime i play it i can see it trying to be, but thanks to all these issues it just cant.

Im still hoping for a patch, but as each day passes and i log into here and see no new updates or even a peep from the developer i slowley lose hope each day.

One thing i find really annoying more than anything though is all the reviews somehow failed to notice these issues. WTF was that about?

I come on here, nearly everyday awaiting news on when on earth we are getting this 'patch'

I cannot and will not play Multiplayer anymore as it's way too frustrating. The lag infested quagmire is just a joke, you know something is terribly wrong when even the killcam is lagging.......

DLC - Crytek, do you REALLY think we are going to buy DLC for this game when the Multiplayer is in such a state of disarray????

You're having a laugh if you do.

To the OP :

I'm sure they can fix it. Black (Lag) Ops had terrible hit detection and lag on the PS3 especially and they patched it and they have told me it's better than it was (I traded it sharpish). So I am sure Crytek can patch it - that's if they want to.....

If they don't, I'll trade it and never go near a Crytek production ever again.

thats a good point. i never really thought about it like that. its like the cod games activision forces a cod game to be released every year n when they come out there is a fair few things wrong with it. i know not as much as crysis 2 but still same principle. why cant they just spend another few months on a game testing each version/platform and fix problems found. crysis 2 had 2 betas and they both had a lot better connection than final release and how can u screw that up???? about the reviews for crysis 2 the big ones like IGN and gamespot r paid by ea or whoever to advertise their games before release and give them really good reviews regardless if there is bug or not. sorry bout the long post :p

My opinion for weeks now, has been that they either can't or won't fix this game. The reasoning behind my opinion is simply their communication. There has been a constant flow of negative attitude and opinions on these forums and others. Crysis2 MP is a joke to say the least and even the biggest fanboys can't really argue it. Sure, the game COULD be great, but it's not, it's garbage. So given that.....

If they were working to fix it or even trying to fix it they would release a statement saying as such. A simple "Sorry, we're working hard, it's on the way" would settle down a huge portion of their customers and keep a very large number of people from selling their copies of the game. Though I do think Crytek is pathetic..... They're a company that has made two video games. They have someone working for them that has enough common sense to know this. So that being said...

They aren't going to do ****. Connections will get worse as more people stop playing the game and I doubt any of the bugs will be addressed. No point in them pouring money and time in to a MP game that is dying quickly. They know that if it takes them 3 months to fix these problems, the community will be dead by then anyhow. Why spend a ton of time and money to please the 20k people that are still playing their game? It doesn't make business sense. This game is at it's final state.

To be honest, I think they're focusing on the PC version of the game and have probably left us console players to rot.

They have stated they are working hard on the DX11 patch... Which just tells me they're interested in Crysis 2 being another benchmark stressing product rather than an actual playable, competitive, fun game...

They're probably the dumber nerds and don't know how. They need smarter nerds working on this game!

100% agree with optimusneo, I think they can't fix it. some hidden problem cause this terrible issues, and as we know if you are using script on your website, and you miss only one letter, the link wouldn't work and sometimes its really difficult to find that letter. and 100% agree with Pick Up Yo Nuts, I will not play crysis 2 until some real patch not coming, and won't buy any DLC. I'm a same every day checking the forum "is there any patch available?", but every single day just disappointment.

id unload a full mag into someone only to have them turn round and look at me and I’d end up dying

I agree 100% with this. For example, my crosshair will be directly on someone and I would fire almost a full mag too, majority of the time, I look at the replay, the guy's crosshair probably hits me for about half a second, and I'm dead. Most of the time they're just shooting circles around me, yet I still die faster than others, if their crosshairs just graze me while I fire for a long time on them??

Such a shame, the best looking game I've ever played, Single Player was amazing, but the multiplayer is horrible, the worst I've ever played, even worse than Gears of War 2. Not just that, if I'm playing over wi-fi, I ALWAYS have the lowest connection. But when I'm playing wired I get 75% connection. Spawn points are horrible too (worse than Halo 3), whenever I'm shooting at one guy, there's ALWAYS another guy behind me, and beside me, and it's not enough that you die very fast in this game, unless you play like a wuss (ie. camping, hugging your teamates); it's hard to survive long in this game.

I think that stealth mode plays a big part in this too. You can't run and gun like in most fps games, even if your an amazing shooter, cause their bullets for some reason will kill you in a blink of an eye, and I'm hardly ever fighting 1 vs 1, is usually 1 vs 2/3. Today for a few seconds I wasn't even able to zoom whenever I held down LT. I noticed this with the demo too, there seems to be some lag whenever meeling. Also during the pre-load screen, the music will all of a sudden get very load and very static (low quality). I really want to keep playing Crysis 2 multiplayer, but the only way I'll go back to it is if they do a MAJOR OVERHALL of it, not just a few patches here and there.

I too have pretty much got to the point where i am about to give up on this game completely. Pity, as it could be pretty decent if they actually tried to fix it.
