You've gotten better. But it's too late, Crytek.

Let me say up front that I absolutely love Crysis 2. The single player is nice and lengthy with plenty of tactical options, and while multiplayer has it's fair share of issues (mainly lag) it's still IMMENSELY more enjoyable for the last month than CoD has been in the last 4 years for me.

I have to say however your community responce is poor. The reason why certain multiplayer games thrive is because the problems are fixed nearly as soon as they are found by the developers. They also really take their time to respond to the community when they can. Treyarch are a perfect example of this. I understand that Crytek may be limited by the size of their team (they are still large but not as successful as other companies as it currently stands), but their reaction time has been too slow. It took around 2 weeks for the first batch of multiplayer issues to be fixed, then another 2 for the next batch. Oh yes, and the major issues have STILL not been solved. Hell, you even have to release a PC patch for features promised to be there on launch day "a few months" later.

The multiplayer will never have a shot at being a big contender now. It'll just have a small hardcoe community. It's already dropped off the Xbox Live top 10. Thanks for trying, Crytek. But you've failed at making the next big thing already. There's no way to redeem it now.

Well, there's always Crysis 3.

I agree. Communication is p*** poor.

I don't think the game will be a big contender because even if they fixed everything and they were on dedicated servers they would still have a game that only appealed to a niche market. Most people like military shooters, this isn't it.

When you say "major issues" what do you have in mind? Because MP for me has MANY MANY minor issues but nothing major enough to make it unplayable or miserable at least. I heard some people had grain glitch and private match reset but nothing I can think of as major.

I don't think this is a niche game at all, I think its a touch of Call of Duty with Mirrors Edge mobility and Halo Elements.

The main thing I didn't like about CoD was the lack of mobility throughout the maps.

I never called it niche, I just said that the time frame for it to be a multiplayer hit has passed, so all the patches are just to please us right now.

And Twisted, I completely agree with you and that's why I love the multiplayer. But I am talking about the more frequent minor issues.

The stealth aspect of the game really puts people off, a few real-life friends have not played it since a few days after release because they couldn't get used to it. They wanted to play Classic but unfortunately they needed to put in many hours before they could enjoy the game how they wanted. How ironic that once they got there they would not be able to play it anyway because no-one plays it.

Coupled with the major issues at that point i.e. awful party system, lag beyond belief, failed host migrations etc they couldn't be bothered. If they were of played it now since the patches they might enjoy but they've had enough, but there's still the stealth.

I personally like the stealth as I can move around the map and don't have to check corners which I loathed about COD. I couldn't enjoy COD because of how cautious I had to be, it felt like work when I was playing it.

The stealth is the niche aspect. I cannot think of another big title at the moment that has stealth and in such quantities.

I know you didn't say it was niche, I did :)

I agree about the timeframe, there will be some people that will be picking up the game now and in the future like I said above there are probably many that have had enough of the game already and have put it down in the first week or so of release due to the issues at the time.

It's a shame because sometimes it can take awhile to get 6 players to start a match, most join half-way into a game.
