If next Patch doesn't fix 60%+ of complaint then?

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 4:36 am

Hey,

Just curious if the next patch in hopefully the next 2 weeks doesn't fix the majority of issues outlined in this forum what you guys will be doing. Will you be selling it or do you have perhaps unwarranted optimism and patience?

I'll hang onto it until it's been long enough to get the dedication achievement, then I'll just snap the disc.

I think it's pretty close to being fixed. Until they use dedicated servers the rest of these lagging/matchmaking problems will always exist.

That's commitment, won't you lose trade in price waiting that long or do you really want to snap it? lol

They've ONLY to:

-Fix the overlapping/extreme music volume in the MP Menu
-Fix the LAG and the Netcode (better Host Selection by region and Lowest-Ping at least, and fix Host Migrations. Or even better: DEDICATED SERVERS)
-Put a really simple RANDOM filter in Maps Rotations in every Playlist instead of the same map rotation everytime
-Try to lock the framerate to 30fps instead of 30-10-30-5-20-5-30fps while playing

And they're done until Crysis 3 will be released on the next generation of consoles for me...
Waiting (and hoping) for the next Patch(es).

I will enjoy Gears of War 3 Beta meanwhile...

This. Only problem is locking the frame rate. The xbox isn't all that powerful anymore, so it can't handle very much.. Unfortunately, we have to wait a year or two until the next generation of xbox or PS comes out..

This is it for me with stress on:

-Make Host Migration WORK! :)

If it was successful at least half of the time then that would be an improvement. I would love to see Crytek's internal stats showing the global percentage of successful host migrations in this game. If it is over 20% I will be amazed.

Compare this to my experiences with host migrations in Reach (~90% success) and Black Ops (~80% success) and you can understand the frustration with the online play....

On topic - I will definitely be getting Brink in a couple of weeks, and depending on how good Brink is then that will mainly decide on my C2 disc's fate. The only way I can see myself sticking with Crysis 2 is if the issues above are addressed and there is an announcement of a kick-ass DLC!

we have to wait a year or two until the next generation of xbox or PS comes out..

Make that 4-5 years.

In an interview, Chris Lewis, Microsoft’s vice president for interactive entertainment business in Europe, said that the company would continue to sell the Xb0x 360 for the next five years, effectively extending the console’s lifespan to 10 years.

“Kinect really gives us, I think, a very genuine additional five years,” Lewis told Bloomberg. “What Kinect does is broaden us out to users that we weren’t addressing in the past.”

Thats obviously a bad idea.. Sony is going to pull out a new gaming system and leave Microsoft in the dust. (If the 4-5 years thing is actually true). If it comes to that then I'm getting the next generation of PS, Microsoft is nice and all, but I enjoy playing on a console that's fast and won't burn a hole in my house when it plays a game.. lol

They have 2 weeks and then it is Brink, Brink, Brink. Fix the host migration that leaves me in duplicate games and I will keep this game and actually get to enjoy the MP content, something I have yet to do since release, over a month ago.

I honestly had so much more fun on ps3... (oh noez fanboys alert) I just had to get rid of it cuz the drive was going out (thanks mw2 haha) and got the 360.. aside from the now downed PSN, and the no party chat (text chat? REALLY SONY?! its 2011 yo!) I had a ton more fun on it.. but on a topic, kinect is not worth 5 more years of 360's life.. theres a TON of people on my friends list that got kinect... and wait for it.. waittt forrr itt... dont play it! =o lmao if they truly are gonna wait on lets call it 720, then all theyre doing is shooting themselves in the head.. but thats just my opinion

Personally, yes, I might actually snap the disc for the grief it's caused me. I don't normally trade my games in because while it'd save me money, I find myself often going back and replaying games (or wishing I could with ones I've sold).

As far as the 360 goes, the Kinect to me is interesting technology... But I don't care for it. There's nothing but pet/dance/exercise games for it (possibly others, that's just what I see dominate the field) and while that's great for some people, for the competitive gamer, it does nothing. I'm not saying I'm MLG or anything... Just that I like to compete which is why I play games and strictly buy games with good (and sometimes seemingly good) multiplayer support.

The Kinect doesn't do it for me because they've taken the controller out of my hands, which makes me feel, well... Out of control. I don't really care how advanced the technology is and how well it captures my movements because, honestly, you still look like a dumb ass waving at your TV...

If Microsoft IS working on a next gen console. All I ask is make sure it has proper heat ventilation... I'd rather not have to worry about shipping off my console every 6 months (exaggeration).

Lol multiplayer support? Kay I love this game.. and hate it.. Crytek UK has to be the utmost worst in the field of gaming I have ever witnessed as far as multiplayer support.. the adam and the other guy only ever seem to say anything on here when it has to do with stayin on topic.. nothing on progress or anything that ive seen.. but yeah I love crysis 2 for its gameplay.. the stealth and armor fit into my play style so amazingly well unlike cod or whatever.. first game ever in my history ive been able to keep an above 2.0kdr consistantly.. the lowest its been since I got it was 2.01 (not showing off...) and I hate it because of the worthless turd of a human hacker/cheaters/modders.. and the fact that the devs seem to honestly 100% not give a **** about us ya know; I understand consoles are new grounds for em but good lord, call friggin activision for help or treyarc!! something!! haha And finally as far as snapping a disk.. I've only intentionally broken 2 games before... SOCOM: Confrontation for PS#, and Crap (err.. Black) Ops for 360.. socom was a snap in half, and black ops was a frisby (it flew with such grace into a wall that shattered it =) ) lol

I personaly have never expierienced lag at all in a multiplayer match thought im tired of playing the same maps every other match... host migration is down right aweful and fails every time (ive only had like 1 successful host migration out of like 20 times). The music is indeed very loud and it overlaps itself which ends up sounding a little bit like static which is some-what annoying.... A map pack will be much appreciated in my book and with the leak of the Retaliation Map Pack im crossing my fingers.... heres the link to some screenshots of the Retaliation Map Pack:

NEVER had lag? bull. Not possible. Lag for me is not a big issue after the patches but every now and then you will have a **** host and everyone will have lag. Got nothing to your side.

If the host gives everyone a red bar, you cannot stop this and you will lag even if this happens once in 20 games. So NEVER is too much a strong word.

I will wait for.... about as long as it takes for something new to come out... Honestly I don't really have six months to wait for a new crysis 2 patch. Idk if I will trade the game in I might eventually, but I probably wont snap the disk :3. I just might not play that much. The lack of information is really killer, but at least it seems like they are working on patching the game, even if its not stuff that we want them to fix. Its just amazing to me that people who don't own the game, or who are not willing to wait for a patch, still come here and post and complain.

I will try Brink out and if it is a superior product then I will sell C2. Will it have a Demo?

I found out Brink is on a p2p system, massive fail so will wait a couple weeks after release and see if it's a lagfest before I purchase. Why couldn't they had dedicated servers? Sick of host migrations and lag. Not gonna pay for another a half-finished product.

May have to entertain myself with SP games until BF3 or play BFBC2, heard that's really good, a challenge and has dedicated servers.

C2 is too easy to own. Fed up of guaranteed wins, the community is so small and people hardly play it that most players are barely level 20 and inexperienced. Me and my friends wipe the floor with everyone, NOT FUN AT ALL. Winning IA games pistol only EVERY GAME is not enjoyable when everyone is low level.

Bad Company 2 runs like a dream, with an amazing choice of staying infantry, or taking to one of the many vehicles. Highly recommend it.

If a company runs PROPER P2P (are you listening Crytek) such as Halo Reach then it shouldn't be a problem. The difference is, Crytek has obviously cut corners with their P2P Software, which is creating bedlam for the majority of us.

Try BFBC2 if you wanna wait for Brink, you won't be disappointed and it's very cheap at the moment.

Return to Crysis
