MP Boring?

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:48 am

Hey,

Anyone else find the MP to be boring? I think that the problem is that it lacks depth and strategy and involves little skill. The higher level players develop the same strategy; run around in cloak and pick people off that are not in cloak or in a gunfight and then go back in cloak. Rinse and repeat.

This strategy does away with the actual need to engage in a face-to-face gunfights. I have nothing against it, it's the only way to play well. I've tried to make the game harder and more challenging by using pistol only and still can go 25-5 on a IA with a M12 Pistol without Rapid Fire. I don't even feel that I'm skilled, I'm just good at killing vulnerable people - a master of backstabbing. I feel no sense of achievement going 25-5 or better.

There is no teamwork except a little in CS and there are not enough game modes. I find TIA, IA and CS fun but the others are banol. I don't think the weapons are a problem, I like most of them after the hotfix.

I think the problem is mostly in ability levels. There are so many bad players at this game that victory, especially with a party is certain. When I'm with friends we would spend an evening going 150-20 or better in CS for 10+ in a row. TIA is a walk in the park as well.

Perhaps this is the fate of playing a MP game too much. Perhaps I will go back to SP games, I find them more rewarding. Putting the bugs/issues aside, does anyone else think it's boring and why do you think it is?

I used to love this game but yeah it is getting boring. I hate the "first person to pull RT wins" style of playing. It honestly svcks. And yeah, I'm mostly die getting shot in the back and and getting shot by someone else in a firefight. I don't hate the MP but I don't love it either. The SP is still INSANE though.

Maybe if I feel the sniper class is more appreciated then I'll like it more. I knew this game would more "up front" before I bought it though so I'm not extremely surprised. But I hate that I've had to go from being a sniper to being an assault with a sniper as a 2nd weapon.

I enjoy the mobility of the game. Though I did come from CoD, and having minimal Halo experience, I find the game fun. I think what's really killing it for me is the extreme lack of customization. I like there to be more than just camo's for rebooting. Especially when the game takes quite a bit to level in the first place.

CoD's flaw is that Prestige 10-15 times really isn't that fun, especially when you don't get dike out of it except an icon (C2's icons are worse though). I think Black Ops did well with the custom player tag, but obviously the rest of the game lacked... And I see no point in theater modes. While they help people save a few extra $$ on capture cards, do I really want to see everyone's replays flooding the internet? No.

Maybe I should just go buy Halo: Reach... I'll see if Brink is any good first. I've already gotten bored with GoW3... Unlocked the Gold Lancer in Retail, but have no intention of buying it...

It's the current games hit registration and autoaim. It's the reason for all major imbalances concerning multiplayer and I believe Crytek isn't going to change a damn thing about it. This game takes too much player input of out the equation in a player is aiming/shooting. It makes shooting too easy and nonchalant. Human error doesn't play a part in shooting so it basically becomes if I see you first you die game play. Add the ability of allowing player to cloak and you have a bland gameplay experience. Armors ineffective, automatic weapons are heavily favored, cloaking has more benefits than armor, quick deaths, strafing ineffective all come from the hit detection.

I believe they aren't going to change a damn thing because they are looking for quick fixes with the hotfix of weapon changes. Why are they change weapon characteristics when they don't even allow human error to play a bigger role in shootouts. Weapons aren't going to show any individualism when the game doesn't even allow the player to the aiming. This game basically does a majority of the work when you ADS. All of these major characteristics will change if they allowed more player input to be the major deciding factor in a shootout. All the weapon classes will be used more frequently, armor will do it's job, assassinations will play a bigger role if they change the hit detection back to the 2nd demo.

idk i still love and enjoy the mp of this game for the most part, besides laggy connections. i go into a game and i'm still stunned by the great graphics and the fluid gameplay. don't wanna sound like a fanboy, but i'll be playing this at least till bf3 ships, cause at the moment i don't know any game that beats this one.:)

Honestly, I might just be that bad, but I really don't see a lot of my aim assist taking over... I've messed up plenty of my own shots..

Your not bad, I just think your inexperienced with console gaming. I remember something along the lines of you saying you were a pc gamer a while back. There's a ton of aim assist. The aim assist allows for minimal player input. Now some players are more efficient in using that little available input as possible BUT it still takes too much player input of the equation. It basically guarantees that next shootout the next surviving player gets in will be a death. The odds are stacked too high for players whose health/sheilds are low WHICH wouldn't probably even been drained if it wasn't for the severe autoaim. The autolock & autoaim almost guarantees certain death when you ADS. The current system allows for human error but it sure doesn't punish it enough because the game will basically autopilot the aiming for the player.

Couldn't agree more Twisted. Aside from the massive problems I had trying to find good connections and stable games... After actually getting to play several games that were stable I realized how terrible the game was. It's fun for a little while but inevitably everyone ends up with pretty much the same 3-5 modules equipped running around in stealth. It's really dumb and incredibly newb friendly. Spawn, stealth, sprint, shoot someone in the back, stealth, sprint, repeat.
