CRY_ADAM please read and acknowledge, it's getting seriously

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 12:41 pm

Well i play several games today and here is what i found:

1. LAG
2. controls unresponsive, tried to fire my weapon and it would not respond.
3. I hosted one game and the frame rate was terrible and when the screen got busy, Wow it was like playing on a really bad PC setup.
4. I was waiting for around 10mins before getting into a game, this is getting worse.

Please respond and i hope that you guys will be issuing an update of around 500mb in size to address the netcode and lag issues. 4mb updates i fear are not enough and we need this fixing in one sitting, not drip fed in small patches.

we need to know what your solution will be for this mess as the SP is awsome (with a few minor glitches and slowdown) but ew need answers.

I played quite a few matches the past few days:

1. Yes, lag is same old same old.
2. increase in "weird" actions and auto responses
3. Na
4. This is a function of the drop in players online. With GAW3, MK, and other titles available - all but the patient players have moved on. This will likely get worse next week with the release of several titles.

Either agree to accept this game as it currently is or ditch it. IMO Crytek is cutting its losses and will not be spending more time and money on this title (patches or DLC), to preserve profits. They likely will move on to Crysis 3 or Crysis 3 under a different name (since this title is a bit tainted on console).

Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if this game wasn't just a gimmick to fund work on their precious CryEngine 3.

Hmmmm!

i know what you mean.

The same thing happened with Race Pro on the xbox360, they hyped it, released it, tried to fix it and got fed up and stopped supporting it.

I hope Crytek doesn't do what Simbin did, that would really naff me off!

I tell you one thing for a fact :

If Crytek leave Crysis 2 in this unfinished state I won't and I'm sure tonnes of other people won't go near Crysis 3 (or whatever they call it) - ANY game with Crytek behind it won't be coming near my console.

They can whistle if they want more of our cash for DLC too.

Today I experience for the first time unresponsive controls and it annoyed me quite a bit. I died twice in a row because I could not for the life of me melee after shooting at an opponent. That cost me two lives.

Try upgrading your internet. I got some bonus upgrade packages from my internet provider and played a few games in the morning and had literally no problems, wasn't even host and reveived no problems.

Yeh, cause we should totally be put into a position where we have to upgrade our internet connections, which are fine for every other game, just to play this one. Great logic there. And even if that was the case, the game should have come with a disclaimer stating that only premium internet packages can run this game. Fact is, the netcoding does not work to an acceptable level over P2P infrastructure, that and having not even the slightest bit of regional filtering is just idiotic. Last time I tried to have a game I was put in a lobby with a bunch of people from Russia and China. Good Stuff!

Mullpig talks sense :

Halo Reach Online - Runs Great

Homefront Online - Runs Great

Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Runs Great

Killzone 3 - Runs Great

Crysis 2 - Runs Terrible, laggy, jumpy gaming.

As Mullpig states, it's kind of funny that every other game (both Dedicated Servers and PROPER NETWORK P2P as in Halo Reach all work great. If mine and everyone elses internet provider and speed wasn't up to scratch all the above games would struggle.

It just so happens that it's only Crysis 2 that makes me feel like smashing the controller up due to it's p1ss poor Network Coding.

Funny that.

I sent Cry-Adam a personal message, which was calm and written in a collective manner.

No Reply.

So I sent another one a few DAYS later, asking if he had read my first message and guess what :

Every single personal message gets bounced, I can't even PM the guy

Classy company is Crytek.

If you send another one, I'm pretty sure you will have been 'blocked' as well. Looks like Crytek won't answer in the forums and block PM's too.

They just sink lower and lower into the sh*t.

Your clever. I'v got about as good a connection as you can get, and C2 lags like crazy. If i'm not host melee is off the list, hit detection is a joke and the frame-rates are piss poor. If it doesnt get fixed soon theres not going to [i]be[i] a community left!

I'm hearing rumours that this game was released months early and half baked because someone leaked a copy of it? Can anyone verify this?

lol pretty sad reason for releasing a game that is still in BETA if it's true. And if Crytek has dropped their efforts to continue supporting this game then they seriously won't get any of my cash in the future and I'll go a sell my copy of C2 while it's still worth something.

It's funny all console users own legit copies, yet the PC version where pirated copies of C2 are rampant from what I've read are getting the most support as well as apparently free DLC.

LMAO that's some funny ****.

Mods blocking people on such a young forum? now that's a worry.

All I know is that it's a known issue. I'm not on Crytek's side, I think it's very unethical for their staff to keep most of us in the dark in terms of patch progress and development, but, it is what it is.

One thing we can say for sure is we don't know if Cry-Adam is even a network coder. He might just be a guy appointed to be a public voice and in his defense, it's a pretty **** job. That being said, he's certainly not handling it as well as I feel he could, but again, meh.

I've scoured his posts and found one a few days back where he actually acknowledges the network lag, all he said was "That information has been passed up to the relevant team" - or something like that.

All I'm doing is hoping they get with the program sooner than later and get this addressed.

Cry-Adam is a member of Crytek (I believe) who posts/monitors this forum, along with Tom. Both have been incognito for a while now. But appear every now and then. It’s just the lack of communication which has gotten frustrating. If they would just give small updates on how patches are going, what stage there at etc etc. It would greatly ease the tension, and anger on this forum.

This is my belief. I believe that the reason we aren't getting any feedback from Cry-Adam and Crytek is because they have jumped a sinking ship. I don't believe for one minute they would be this unprofessional for any other reason than they don't want to say 'we've given up'. I'm a frequent member on the forums of every game I buy, and I have to say I've never seen such arrogance as I've seen here from Crytek, the games developer. This leads me to believe that after the 7 or so weeks this game has been out and the subsequent silence is because we've been hung out to dry for good.

I forgot to mention on my last post that Cry-Adam disables Personal Messages to him (after you unsuccessfully ask him a rational question) and you won't be able to send anymore.
