gamesas Community with Crytek

Well I have been thinking, for most of the week, but today in particular I have made up my mind. I have spent most of the day surfing for Crytek news, checking out there forums, other forums and the company page for Crytek, it’s been very interesting.

But first check this video out…I really do think that the Cryengine is one of the best, I always remember “Crysis – Cryengine 2” that it was the first engine with real-time lighting and fully destructible environment.
This is Cryengine 3. I love this stuff enjoy…

http://www.crymod.com/viewtopic.php?p=790651#p790651 If you are lucky enough to have a PC that can run Crysis 2 then you are in luck. I am really looking forwards to the new Cryengine 3 sandbox, I had a good go with the last one, wasn’t very good at it but it was an eye opener as to how hard it is to create maps that work.
Hopefully I’ll be much better with this one, lol.

http://crymod.com/viewtopic.php?p=784735#p784735 This is very interesting, it must have been a real challenge to convert the Cryengine to run on consoles, I remember when Crysis first came out on the PC, everyone joked that it would never run on consoles. Here’s some good footage of PC versus Consoles, both Cryengine 2 and Cryengine 3.

These next three video clips show what Cryengine 3 can do in real-time…

We all know that PC graphics are better than consoles, obviously, but how much better does the PC run C2 than the consoles…

And lastly, here is some 360 MP footage, these graphics look smart, my own graphics are nothing like this.

Crysis 2: Hero's Journey Multiplayer Footage

This raises a question I would like to ask, is the graphics on the 360 somehow tied into the internet bandwidth, silly question I know, but if I run a private match without anyone joining, “As I wouldn’t want to loose my states” the graphics have zero grain in them and they look perfect??

On a side note, with the advancements in gaming software, I think the consoles need an upgrade they are getting a little dated, the 360 must be a few years old now.

Anyway, to end this, I really enjoy C2 as I have all of Crytek’s games, they are always special. Even though the 360 has so many MP problems I think it’s great that it made it to the consoles.

But my mind is made up, this is the first time I have been a member of a forum, which has had next to zero input from the company involved. Even simple questions go unacknowledged, yet when I look on other Crytek forums it’s a completely different story.

Well this is not a dig at Crytek, they are a professional company and I am sure they know what they are doing. But I do feel I have been here long enough, I look in twice a day to get info, but there is never anything news worthy. I will not give up playing C2, in-fact as soon as the sandbox is released I’ll purchase the PC version so that I can have some fun.

Till then I think I’m going to hang out in other game forums, I’m sure if the bomb ever does drop here, the news will filter to the other game forums fast enough.

I am still confident that Crytek will solve the problems, they always have in the past, but it’ll take time that’s all. Which in turn leaves me time to enjoy other games.

It's great posts like this that frustrate me even more. With as awesome an engine as this game has it should not have a bug like the grain glitch. How it has been allowed to have this bug for over a month after release by Crytek is just mind boggling to me. Hoping for a fix soon.

I don't have it but I have seen clips of it, what I don't understand is that all consoles with the exception of a few different versions, updated motherboards and since the black version came out they have all had inbuilt HDMI sockets.

Since everyone received the same game and only a few players are having the grain problem would it not stand to reason that it’s a hardware fault, what I mean is could it be just one version of the 360 that has it, could it be something as simple as a poor quality HDMI cable, or perhaps it has something to do with the TV, or a particular TV brand, who knows.

For example if you have a friend with a 360 and if he/she doesn’t have the problem, then try taking your hard drive and game disk around to there 360 and trying it out.

Good luck anyway, it’s a great game hope you find a solution soon.

I think their are some that really don't have the grain problem but i think their are many more that do. I've talked to all my employees at work that have Crysis 2 and they all have this grain glitch but thought it was a part of the game and was meant to be in the game.

most of these people are not coming to the boards and don't know its a glitch.

i do agree that it seems worse on some TV's than others from what i read around the web. mine starts out light but slowly gets to the point its unplayable and very distracting.

i don't think its HDMI problem. i have 6 cables from $50 to $5 bucks and its the same on all of them. i guess its possible its a general HDMI thing across the board but who wants to spend their Friday and Saturday night gaming time changing cables and restarting levels and ejecting disks trays all night when their are other games that work fine.

Fantastic post, I really enjoyed some of those videos.

I'm thinking of buying a PC in the next couple of months and was thinking of getting Alienware or building my own (if I can learn to) and would love to have the graphics like those in the PC. Xbox looks s**t compared to high-end PC.

Alienware is great but over priced, build your own, there is nothing, except getting laid, more satisfying than playing on a machine you built yourself. Plenty of research and check out Overclockers, I nearly always go there, they often have deals. ;)

Good Luck m8.

THe good thing about the engine is the lighting effects and the way the whole lighting turns out. As a fan of photoshop and using similar lighting I love the outcome of it when playing the game, the graphics are amaizng too but Crytek could have had 1080p instead of 720.

I actually understand this grain glitch now because I realised today that I've had it since the beginning. What does that tell you about the playability?

There's something MORE satisfying that gaming on your own machine?
