I personally find that the M12 Nova is the best pistol and the damage drop off is so slight I don't notice with the suppressor. Perhaps it's because I use it for short-range engagements anyway.

I have a lot of experience with pistols as I always max out the 200 kills for each to net the 10k xp each gives before I reboot. I've rebooted 4 times so got over 800 kills with each so I more or less know what I'm talking about.

My order of effectiveness.

1. M12 Pistol, high rate of fire and large standard clip. Decent damage with next to no recoil. Make little sound also.

2. AY69 - Very good, especially with Rapid Fire II, you kill instantly if you can aim properly. However, you may have to use a whole clip against an armored enemy or more and thats very risky.

3. Hammer - Decent rate of fire and damage, but low clip and the recoil makes accuracy difficult. I find I can get turned on by the time I have shot 1-2 times and by the time I've got another couple of shots I get mowed down in 0.00001 seconds with a Feline.

4. Majestic - Kills in 2 shots without armor, 4 I think with armor (not counting headshots). Bad ironsights, low rate of fire and low clip with a long reload time make this weapon difficult to use. This is the hardest weapons to rank up. You try going head to head against a full-auto not happening unless they're useless.

I think all the pistols are pretty good personally.

* The Hammer with Rapid Fire+ is top quality, and my personal favourite. I dont leave home without it.
* Nova is reliable, but becomes absolutely superb when you have Nanosuit 2.0
* AV69 I personally found useless until I got extra magazine size. After that its a real killer, especially with Rapid Fire+
* Majestic is damn powerful, but I couldnt get over the fact that you cant attach an Assault Scope to it like you can in single player.

I think game mode helps with choice as well. I'm an avid Crash Site player, and found that as people are often stood still when defending the site, the slow firing Hammer and Majestic become a much more viable option. I always pick the Nova on TIA unless I'm using Rapid Fire+.

That guy in the video has a system of melee and then shooting. I always mix it up with melee and shooting. I recently learned to shoot them from behind especially with the majestic (which I found hard to aim with) before they can turn I've fired that second shot. But the reason I die while using the pistols when I could use melee is because I'm too busy trying to get the assessments. At least the Majestic only has one so soon my fist gets to meet a lot more faces.

Grab your favorite pistol+ learn to melee before or after you open fire. Tada you have learned the FISTOL now go own those noobs.

I think the nova is probably the best secondary as well. I use the AV69, and you dont know how many times I've turned on the max nonosuit & wished I would have had the nova instead. WIth an extended clip the nova holds way more killes than probably any effective weapon besides the Mk. 60. Usually I only draw a secondary when I am streaking , so I usually do have the max suit of a gunship or something. Melee is a must when you run into armored opponents, and if they have armor you WILL NOT kill them in 1 AV69 clip. I do know the nova has a 20+ clip with an extended clip, and I also noticed that the better players always have one when they get the max nano suit. This is all information that is already out there, so this is pretty much an opinion piece
