Version Mismatch?

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 12:31 am

Hi folks.

I was playing with my brother on separate consoles earlier. We went for tea then decided to play again. When i invited him it came up with Version Mismatch, please restart etc.

When he invited me i got the same.

Anyone else encountered this? I have performed maintenance on my xbox hard drive and redownloaded the update but no cigar.

Please help!

You can check what version your console is running by going into the Multiplayer menu and it should be in the top left corner. Something like 1.1.1.8003.

What version does yours say?

This happens when you invite a person in from the Dashboard. This happen to me last night. If you invite someone, they must already be in the game.

If you get version mismatch...Launch single player wait a few seconds...Then leave and try Multiplayer again..it works every time for me and my friends..Apparently the single player syncs the version or something..Make sure both you and your friends do it though.

I'm having the same problem. We all are. A big group that always plays together hasn't in a few days.. enough for me to finally get on here and post. Everyone is having this problem. We all run the 8003 version. They need to fix this soon as we all have stopped playing and finally giving up.

Both consoles are running the .8003 version. I tried the solution above to load single player mode and wait a min on both consoles. Then loaded Multiplayer and invited the other console. VOILA. It worked first time.

This needs patching ASAP. Really poor support from the developers. Thank you community for now.

Same here being happening last 7 days, takes alot of effort to get around it with all players turning off consoles and trying and it still fails...

I wonder if Crytek doing some fixes from playlist side? Adam any idea?

This bug recently reared its ugly head with me as well. Verified we were all running the same version of the game, and have tried the single player in-out and also multiple console reboots. Still can only join in about 1 in 10 tries. I never had this problem prior to yesterday, Crytek whats up? I've been able to deal with the other bugs (random energy loss, etc.) but when I can't play with my buddies, that is the worst.

Have you and your friends launch single player for a few seconds then try again...Works for me and my friends..It resyncs the version apparently.

Just started getting this problem as well. Not with everyone, but it seems like every so often there is one person who we try to squad up with that doesn't get to join due to version mismatch. We tried clearing our caches and still no luck. Also tried shutting down Xboxes and going back into the game.

Unfortunately no luck. Im sure this is just a bug and is likely not a difference in versions at all. Heck, Xbox Live wouldn't let you go online if you didn't download the updates anyway right? I feel like this is an error message that was left in the code, but only gets used for PC and maybe PS3 and is just triggering for no good reason...

Hopefully this will get patched.

Hey guys, we're currently looking into why this version mismatch is occurring. As soon as we've got any updates we'll let you know.

In the mean time please try as suggested here:

- Launch Singleplayer wait a few seconds
- Then leave Singleplayer and try Multiplayer again
- Make sure both you and your friends do this

Cheers!

3 of us tried as you said, 2 of us managed to play together after spending sometime in Single Player.

3rd guy kept on getting mismatch issues even after he turned off the console on/off.

it does help but doesn't fix the issue completely.

Thanks Adam and please keep us informed of any new developments

Hey guys,

We discovered what was causing this issue and it should now be rectified. We will continue to monitor it and have made necessary adjustments to update procedures to prevent this from happening again.

Thanks!

So what is the ETA for a "REAL" patch that fixes everything, not these dribs and drabs that will fix one thing but break another?

Just an estimated time frame would be good, I would like to start playing again.
