Yes, say cheese Crytek.

And then when you have even more money it's David Copperfield time again and we won't see you.

Well, I won't be falling for this shallow trick.

They need a patch before the DLC. I doubt it will come though. And they also need a patch that fixes bugs that the community actually cares about. I don't expect something that fixes everything or even a lot. I'd be satisfied with something that just fixes 3 or 4 bugs out of the countless bugs that have been reported. That way we know they are actually listening to us. I'm sure there will be people that will give their money away on this map pack, but i know I'm not until they fix what they already have.

I am doubtful there will be a patch. Ever. At least for the most detrimental issues of lag and match-making.
I honestly believe that the game code is too screwed up to quickly repair.
Everything about Crysis 2 screams lack of polishing and testing, deadline despair and money mongering. Or so we might think, since the official responses are either too vague or too poignant in their absence to offer any encouragement.

I understand that Crysis 2 was Crytek's first multi-platform game. I understand that with their extensive PC experience from the original Crysis, the PC version of Crysis 2 can rely on already proven methods to ensure game quality on- and off-line, and should by all accounts be better, more stable and "maintenanced" (yes, I just created that word) than its console iterations. I understand that, while sharing similar traits on the outside, network-coding for PC and consoles differ wildly, and things that are proven to work on one media will often not adequately translate to another.
Therefore, I believe that the console versions of Crysis 2 are too broken to be repaired without reprogramming whole game sections from scratch. I believe that Crytek thought they could apply their PC knowledge to console on-line gaming without the need for experienced consultation. I believe they thought they could do it themselves. I believe they failed. I believe they did not mean to fail, and I believe they might actually feel bad about it, but they still made too much of a mess of things to ever get it right. And I believe they have made their peace with that.

They will not admit failure. But they cannot and will not fix what can't be fixed, whether it was by their own inexperience or negligence or not. They will ride out the storm, in silence, if need be. They will get harassed for a while, but as the community of console players will wane, the criticism will eventually vanish right along with it. Some customers may hold a grudge, but not nearly enough to matter. They will take it as a learning experience, and, hopefully, might even learn from it. And by the time Crysis 3 comes around, only a few will even remember the problems we faced with Crysis 2. And even those will still come around to take a look at it, since they obviously cared enough about the second to get upset by its unrealized potential, and subsequently hope despite their reservations that maybe indeed third time's the charm.

Agreed - Don't give these greedy mercenaries any more of our cash until they patch the game to a state it should have been on release date.

Honestly, I don't have almost any problems with the game, the only thing I want changed (other than a little weapon tweaking) is the total removal of autoaim.

Congratulations,

You are one of the 5% who don't experience the huge list of bugs and glitches.

Unfortunately the other 95% of us do experience them.

Boycott the DLC until they fix this game

You need to fix the matchmaking process on this game. It takes way to long to find a match, and the same maps are chosen over and over again (Pier 17, Skyline, Terminal). The MM in this game can almost make it unplayable, everything else is great though,

I don't think I have ever played on Terminal, just Lighthouse, Skyline is quite rare, Wall Street is too common and sometimes Downed Bird, I have 14 or something hours in the multiplayer log but no Nomad achievement!

I'm sure it depends on the gametype you play, I never saw Impact until I played IA which got me the the Nomad achievement... funny because I was only playing IA to get Jack of all Trades!

It seems you don't get Impact and Terminal on Crash Site either, and I've only played Liberty Island on CTR.

I know you definately get Wall Street and Pier 17 on Crash Site, EVERY TIME you have to search for a new game!

Impact? The thing is I played 2 games on IA because it takes ages to get put into a match, is that the only map i'm missing from IA?

I got my achievement in only a few hours into the game.

I played CTR, TIA & CS to get it.

If you go in to your assessments i'm sure it tells you what maps you've played on.

It is funny that you all are coming up with different theories that Crytek obviously doesn't care about. If they did, the Community Manager would have been on here a long time ago. They would be asking for feedback. They would be asking about problems you are having with their game. They would be looking at ways to calm the community down, so they can sell more games. They destroyed New York in the game, and pulled an Osama Bin Ladin, and went back into their caves. I mean mansions.

There's a remedy.

Until they communicate with us :

Don't buy the DLC to give them more of our cash

Do not ever buy another game which is connected to Crytek, ever

Cry-Adam has already said that the patch won't be ready before the 17th.

I don't think it will ever be 'ready'

This never works...from experience of playing Call of Duty over the last few years people always threaten to not buy DLC/the next game until they get dedicated servers, patches for hacks/glitches etc... and then people buy the DLC/the next game.

The developers know this, who do you think you are kidding?

I agree somewhat but I haven't seen any Call of Duty games with the amount of glitches, hacks, lag currently in this game. I won't say it'll work, but I believe their DLC is going to be cut down significantly until this game is patched to a more polished state.

Call of Duty may not be the best FPS out there, but when I put it on the network coding doesn't render games unplayable and laggy as Crysis 2 always does, that's the difference. I am not a COD fanboy as I believe that with proper Network Coding / Dedicated Servers Crysis 2 would trounce COD. It may have it's faults, but not the multitude that Crysis 2 has had for 2 months.

Who do I think I am kidding??? - Nobody - I can guarantee you I won't be buying the DLC until they patch this crock of ****.

To the people who complain about what maps are or aren't in what gamemodes, go to a private game and see for yourselves.

IA/TIA - All except Liberty Island
CS - All except Liberty Island/Impact/Terminal
CTR - 6 maps
Assault - Slightly different 6 maps
Ext. - Same 6 maps as Assault (pretty sure)

There are more updates coming for all platforms but these won't be ready before the 17th.

It's good to see I have to trawl through random threads to see these one liners Adam. How about you guys use the news feed on the main page? *rolls eyes*

We will announce full patch notes when we have them, just as we've done for every other patch.

Please use the main thread to discuss any issues with multiplayer lag: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=25575

Thanks.
