Most Annoying Weapon and Module Combo...

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 1:34 pm

I used to play a lot of MW2 back in the day, and as all who know the game can probably attest to, there was one thing the respectable players amongst us (ha!) hated probably as much as losing: Commando-Lightweight-Marathon. You know, those little rabid squirrels on Speed that just ran around stabbing people from twenty yards away, never even considering doing anything about the objectives. God, I hated those guys.

So now I find myself with Crysis 2, and despite the issues that are sadly still present, I enjoy it a lot. I'm not even that terrible.
But of course I've already found another enemy-type to damage my calm:
Energy Transfer (III), Stealth Enhance (III), Mobility Enhance (III), mostly combined with the Silenced Marshall or Silenced Feline.
You know, those guys on Crash Site that do nothing but run around in stealth, run up to someone, shoot them in the back, stealth again with their now fully recharged nanosuit and run on off to do it again and again. The guys that do not get a single objective point, but 20 kills while their team still loses. They're not squirrels, exactly, more like baboons. Crazy, rabid, squirrely baboons. On Speed.

Now it might be that I just find people irritating that do not even try to participate in the actual game mode, instead seeing everything as TIA and try to bolster their K/D to compensate for their lack of visible genitalia, but I'd like to think I'm a better man than that (despite what my second grade teacher told me).

So, what are your most hated enemies? What do they do, how do they do it? Or are you just so damn good, there's no one coming even close to annoying you, ever?

Same here, during CS those speedsters that get 0 pod pts but over 20 kills using what you said. Everyone else I can handle and tolerate, lol.

L-Tag spammers (thanks for the increased fire-rate and damage 'balancing' hotfix Crytek!) and Snipers that don't play the objective.

True, L-Tags on CS are excruciating... I didn't play C2 before the balancing-fix... was it better before with the L-Tag?
As for Snipers, I used to be one in MW2 and BFBC2, but here the lag and hit detection just made me give it up pretty soon. It's more luck than anything, for me at least. I can respect the Snipers that overlook the pod and get offense or defense kills, but if combined with Retriever, it sometimes seems to easy for those guys to get their support bonuses without any real danger. I think Retriever is in any case one of the worst modules, since it totally goes against the dog-tag-collection enforced anti-camping gameplay...

So, yeah, camping snipers with the Gauss and Retriever.

Before balancing the LTag was useless and while you could get a few kills with it, it seemed sluggish.

Now.
I run an L-Tag load out and I am happy to get flak for it. :) If you run with an LTag you know just how amazingly fun it can be. I don't care win or lose it is fun and to me, it keeps me playing (ok and the MK60). I have my favorite modules that I use for it but they are my little secret.

I will defend the LTag'ers of the world.

shouldnt a counter to that be to use the one module that allows you to see ppl that are cloacked or the one that allows you to see enemy footsteps? It definitely would make nano vision more useful if you can see cloaked enemies with it though

it makes no sense nanovision detects heat, it doesnt matter if one is cloaked it should still detect that one individual cloaking since he is not yet dead and still producing heat with his body. For balancing though, if they make it possible to use nano vision in such a way, nano vision should not last drain energy faster

I want a roundhouse-kick-module instead of the air stomp!^^
That wound be Chuck Norris power module but...it would give you an auto win that why they scraqed it xD
Anyway my personal annoyance Set up to kill Cloakers is

Jackal with extended mags.
Explosive is the JAW
Energy Transfer(though Air stomp is useful for the no fall damage since you should be flying all over the map.)
Visor Enhanced lvl 3 (So you can NV almost 24/7 to see those darn cloakers. though if your on console I feel sorry for you because you can't clean up NV or change the FOV.)
Mobility enhanced-to close the gap quick.

Run ...NV when in buildings... Run... Kill the poor cloaker.... run umm.... Air stomp when give the chance...Yeah RUNNNNN...and never cloak(uses up energy that should be used for RRRRUUUUUNNNNNNNNIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGG(or Nano Vison.)

Hi...i am that guy. You probably wont see me coming or running away but you'll see me meleeing your face! Ive noticed that my rep has gone down with 50% of players saying im unsporting. I find that funny. XD

Also played MW2 with the tac knife. I just like to get in players faces & bully them...its a fun way to play to me. It also has the added bonus of annoying people.

I wouldn't worry about these players than use the "annoying" setup's on Crash Site.

They are only receiving half points per kill, so there 20 kills only amount to 10 kills if they were to play IA or TIA.

Since they don't play the objective they also do not receive 100 points for offensive and defensive kills. If they played the objective they would at least receive 150 points a kill as oppposed to 50 points kill-whoring. They need to kill 3x as many people for every 1 kill you get playing the objective. I have excluded skill kills as they are applicable in kill-whoring and playing the objective so balance each other out.

They are also not receiving 30 points every few seconds for being on the Crash Site. Also by losing the the game they don't get points for winning or getting MVP. They also lose any potential chance of earning exclusive Crash Site skill assessments xp bonuses.

In conclusion, a player kill-whoring receives approximately 3-4x less points than an objective player. As it should be. So let them play like idiots, if they really wanted kills they should play IA, you can get loads of kills for more xp alot easier.

Would you looky here...:) Mk60 With rapid fire. Oh and Denonation delay and Covert ops(lvl 2 to screw over those Kd players)too. Yup, I think this will will work for crash site. xD

(pisss don't forget c-4 for traps)

I agree, although there is no need for Covert Ops if you have a headset because footsteps are already very easy to hear.

MK60 with Rapid Fire is beast. I would also go as far to say that MK60 is better than SCAR. My reasons;

a) MK60 has less recoil, with ironsights it feels even less because you can't see the jumpiness as you would if you used a Reflex Sight.
b) Higher Damage - speaks for itself, kills armored opponents quicker than SCAR from experience.
c) High rate of fire - equivalent to SCAR
d) Huge clip - I can kill 5-6 players without reloading, and when I do I can kill another 5-6 before running out. SCAR cannot kill 10-12 players with starting ammo.

Detonation Delay is a must, a lot of people don't use it because they are kill-whoring for no apparent reason which makes no sense as per my above post.

I haven't tried C4, but it would seem it is easier to throw a grenade since I might as well shot an enemy if I'm close enough to use a C4. Do you have reasons that you would share why you prefer it over grenade?

C-4 is just plain fun. I all so like that that you can decide when to blow it. Hence Crash site traps xD
Umm the covert ops is for making the ceph gunship into a worthless reward :) Though on some maps I might change it out for what is needed. Your really flexible with what you can use for the stealth module on this set up.

is it just me or what? Last night i started playing and consistently ran into mk60 whores with the scope. I have no idea what modules they were using, but it sure got annoying as hell getting the living shiiitee spread out of me with that damn gun. The lag dint help either.

Kaz I agree with you 1,000%. That is exactly why i play with the MK60 and usually come in 1st or 2nd in CS, critical for taking the objective with multiple ppl on D. Sometimes it seems however I will unload into someone only to get quickly picked off by that persons scarab at close range... that makes no sense to me but ya can't win em all... :)
