Online numbers dwindling, FAST

check out the article below, its quite disturbing especially after 2 months.

http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/86242/gamrdiscuss-do-you-still-play-crysis-2-online/

"Crysis 2 launched on March 22 of this year to generally positive reviews, with our one and only Chris Arnone scoring it a 9.4 and Metacritic showing the game at 84 out of a possible 100 points.

With a highly anticipated FPS, backed by publishing giant EA, recieving --for the most part-- good reviews, one would assume that Crysis 2 is a much-played game across all platforms, right? Well, they would wrong; it's not.

According to Xbox LIVE data published by Microsoft's "Major Nelson" yesterday, Crysis 2 isn't even on the top 20 most played games on Xbox LIVE, with titles such as Call of Duty: World at War and even 2007's Halo 3 making appearances on the list -- meaning that more people play said games than Crysis 2.

Things only look worse when we take a look at statistics on Steam. According to the service, there are currently 472 players on right now, with the "peak" being 551. We're unable to take a gander at numbers on the PlayStation 3 version.

What we want to know is if you play Crysis 2 online? If so, are you able to find matches easily? If not, why? Let us know. We discuss things in here, so let's do that."

sometimes it can take ages (well 5 min, but who wants to wait that long to play) to get a full lobby, or one thats big enough to play.
then there is the connection issue.

They want feedback as to why. Then I say we give them some.

Someone from the forum with good communication skills that wont cause offence yet still getting a strong point across should give them feedback. If anyone who gives a **** about this game should sign & post a link to a signed thread. Or we could tell the to just visit here. lol. Crytek wont listen to us.

I say reply

I've noticed the dwindling numbers and the difficulty of finding games and full ones at that. Also hard to find competition online as most people stop before getting good. I win all the time.... boring.

The issues people are having have made this problem, the lobby system, failed migrations, picking bad hosts, grain glitch, crashing, dashboarding, general bugs and glitches is pathetic. Only the die hards can stomach the game, a casual gamer does not want to sit for several mins to get in game because of the problems and LONG countdown only to be kicked out, crash, fail migrate or whatever and start the process again. Coupled with the high-learning curve makes people not want to play it. You would not believe the amount of Xbox Live friends, some of whom I know in real-life, refuse to play it... just too much WORK.

My little brother who is no FPS fan watched me play for an hour was amazed at how messed up it was. He played for a few hours and because he wasn't good at it anyway he was becoming frustrated as you would expect, coupled with the issues he just went f*** it and turned it off lol

The stealth is what p*sses people off to. It takes a while until you can notice "disturbances in the environment" even after a few hours my brother could not see cloaked players easily and would keep getting killed by "randomly appearing enemies", this feeling of helplessness just annoys new players more, made first buy the fact they don't have the adequate modules to use stealth a lot of the time at the beginning so they keep getting killed OVER and OVER while they are trying to learn. Not much Crytek can do about this as it's the name of the game but this is one reason people hate the game. NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE YOUR ENEMY.

They should increase the new recruits section to level 15 and they should not allow players that have rebooted to enter new recruits. I was going 25-0 in New Recruits in IA this would just put people off playing.

Crytek are the cleverest and stupidest company I know. The world is crashing down all around them and instead of telling people what they're doing and when to expect improvements they CHOOSE to not speak. They CHOOSE to do this on purpose. Barely anyone plays their game and they know this and instead of giving free DLC to revitalise their game THEY MAKE PEOPLE PAY FOR A MAPS ON WHICH NO-ONE WILL BE PLAYING ANYWAY LOOOOL.

Why would you divide the handful of people playing the game into two? This makes two unhappy groups as both do not have enough players. Free DLC = more players in lobbies + more happy customers + revitalises the game + makes people want to buy future DLC and Crytek games. Makes no sense why they charged us for the little amount of money they will make selling them once Microsoft take their cut. NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.

It can all be summed up by a lack of good post-launch support by Crytek. They have yet to even fix a giant glaring graphics glitch, the grain glitch, in their engine on the 360 even two months after launch. The most noticeable fix they have implemented is fixing the SP pistol silencer unlock glitch, and yet they even messed that up by still not setting the proper amount of attachments in the SP menu thus preventing anyone from getting 100% in SP. Not to mention the long list of online issues. I think Crytek may have shot themselves in the foot with Crysis 2. They have dropped the ball. I still eagerly await the next patch, but who cares? Most people are not die-hard Crysis fans such as myself and will abandon this game soon or already have judging by the numbers. It's really sad. Some game news site needs to sit down and interview Cevat Yerli and get his take on the situation. I am dying to know what he thinks about it.

Makes me happy I decided not to buy the map pack. It's the only way to exercise your rights as a consumer to show a game company that you are unhappy with their product. That and not playing the MP as I refuse to until my biggest gripe with the game is fixed, the grain glitch. I am happy to contribute to the dwindling numbers of players while the game is still not fixed even though it does pain me to have to do it.

I wait, in hope that this next "patch" comes and is an actual decent patch. If not, then sadly this game shall be traded away. Easily my favorite online FPS of all time. Such a shame, this game had so much potential.

Just played four hours with a friend from the UK (I'm in Germany). Had little to no problems getting matches on Retal. Onslaught or Crash Site, regular. Had the Black Screen Glitch (your squadleader gets into a game, you get a black screen and have to dashboard) six times between the two of us, but still a lot of fun, good connections, almost no lag... It's been like this for the last two days, actually.

That said, it's a real shame so few people are still playing. I like Crysis 2 better than any COD, GOW or Halo I've played. The maps are diverse, multi-layered affairs with so much potential for potential mayhem, the new ones are huge to the point of getting lost, and the suit is... just awesome.

I wish there were a way to get people to come back to it, give it another chance... I don't know, maybe the price will crash on Amazon soon, and there will be some influx. Free DLC might also help.
Then again, if Crytek themselves maybe doubted their ability to ever successfully fix the major game problems, I could see them hesitating over anything that might present even more people with the frustratingly unfinished product Crysis 2 sadly still is. Why give themselves more of a bad name in more of their customers' mouths?

Crytek, please don't let this game die. I've grown sick of COD even before Black-OPs, played BFBC2 to death, Halo is just too jumpy and GOW only has one weapon (which is a shotgun and can only be fired from the hip while rolling).
I actually believe that if all worked as it's supposed to, Crysis 2 would be the supreme multiplayer experience out there (well, if you remove the L-Tag from Crash Site Maps). But it still could be great! Sure, it's a lot harder than COD, takes more care than GOW. It's way faster than BFBC2 and a lot less jumpy than Halo. It's a tactical challenge, taxing both thought and reflexes, but a lot of us answered the call and we fell in love with it. Yes, despite the complaints, insults and general outrage.
Don't you see? Nobody could ever get this angry about anything they didn't care deeply about. So many people are banging their heads against walls in frustration of seeing Crysis 2 not being what it could and should have been, it sets off Earthquake alarms all over the world. It had so much potential, so much to look forward to. Maybe it still does. Unfortunately, we the players can't decide that. We can only play the game we're given. Give us a reason to stay and play, Crytek, give us a beacon of hope. Tell us there's light at the end of the tunnel, a world where bugs get fixed and loyalty rewarded with free content.

Step up, damn you!

part of the problem is the reviewers gave it such high scores, shows they obviously didn't play it properly. Otherwise they would of seen all the issues this game had.

It makes sense Crysis 2 is dying, who wants to play a broken game no matter how good it COULD be. Could isn't good enough.
And Crytek isn't helping themselves any, bad communication. Expecting people to pay 800 points for a 4 map pack to be used in agme that is broken and may or may not have people playing it.

I've stuck around this long but am myself ready to give up, I cannot join a match without it being foreigners and red barred. (if I can get a match at all) only to see people still hacking, or lag and aim assist getting me killed by people not even looking at me.

Seriously who wants to play a game that is more frustrating than fun, regardless of how good it looks?

I think Crytek needs to post more on their site, update us on how things are going, give the DLC away free to all, I mean seriously they made a fortune from the games release, and would make more money in the long run doing that and keeping the game alive, instead of expecting dissapointed players to fork out more cash.

Take a look at their Facebook page, giving away the occasional code for the DLC is causing more fighting amongst players than helping the company.

They might make some good visual engines, but they seem completely clueless about how to run a business.

Played my first game online yesterday after taking a few weeks off, and after 2 rounds of getting killed by lag, and one hacker said **** this and turned it off.

i can find matches easily on TIA, IA, and crash site.... most of the time. As for the other game modes.... I've only played a few rounds of them because after waiting for five to ten minutes.... i give up. I've actually never played a round of extraction, not even one since it can never find any matches.

What the... people are still hacking on this? What for? They have nothing to gain from it anyway... To brag amongst friends and say -

Jeff: I hacked Crysis 2! I have an Aimbot! Woooooooop Wooop!!!
David (Currently playing OF: Red River): Who cares? That games DEAD.
Jeff sighs and realises that, he, amongst many other players have paid for a game... That makes people hack, and cheat due to its poor usability.

It's a sad sad story really. Happens with a LOT of OTHER Games out there too though, you know... The one game that's an abbreviated fish!

I'm not saying your issues aren't real. Especially for those in other countries...

I've had to wait max 1 minute to find a game in TIA or IA. I don't do solo because I don't care if the other people are in squads... Usually win anyway. Granted it was maybe 2 days from DLC release, but I managed to find 1 game in every playlist under an hour, and win to get my achievement. I do admit that Extraction, Assault, and even Cature the Relay take 3-5 minutes to get a game going.

I have never once noticed anyone I could claim to be hacking... I've seen a modded game for infinite ammo once, and plenty of boosters that have had to rage quit to save their failure K/D ratio... I don't see how you can ascertain hackers from these terrible 3 second kill replays...

Eat it Crytek, I played Transformers: War for Cybertron and that has 717 players which goes to show you. Even that game has connection issues too which were never addressed but you know what? In my one quick match had a a more fun time because IMO, the run and gun gameplay kills this game/
