The Lobby System Problems *Please Read*

Crytek,

Please listen to this thread as it will list the issues with the lobby system. I think they have probably been said a lot before but I need to restate them as it's been getting worse at late.

1) Failed Host Migrations - These occur all the time, I would say that 4/5 migrations do not work. This is very aggravating as it happens once every few games and we lose some xp by not finishing the game and then it kicks us back to the lobby which has it own issues.

2) Random kicking out of lobbies - In a lobby there can be 6+ players waiting for the match countdown and then it will for no reason kick everyone out. This will then put me in my own lobby and then some of the other players may rejoin me but usually they don't so we will have to wait all over again for new people.

3) Bad Connections - In the past few days I've seen a remarkable amount of games were the host has 4 bars everyone else has 1 bar. I know some people say these are rare, and they were, but like I said in the past couple of days they have become more much more frequent. I used to think people were talking rubbish about the connections but it really ha got bad recently.

4) Bad Connections won't Migrate - If Host has 4 bars and everyone has 1 bar it won't migrate. I know it probably wouldn't work anyway as per the above but it needs to at least attempt to do so. I think it would be good to add in some type of command that migrates hosts if X amount of people have one bars or give us a vote feature to migrate hosts. What's worse that even when your dying for no reason, there's no killcam, your falling through the floor, you have to melee someone 6 times there is a delay and then they die and when your putting 50 MK60 rounds to kill one person you cannot leave because you get a LOSS. I think that if you have a 1 bar then you shouldn't be given a loss if you decide to leave.

5) Searching for New Sessions - This can take a very long time.

6) Joining a match mid-game - Please do not this. My Win/Loss has been destroyed due to this. Yesterday I entered 5 games which already had the top person in IA already have 12+ kills. 3 of these games the top player had 24 kills. I'm good but I'm not that good that I can get 25 kills by the time the top player gets 1 kill. I suggest not putting someone in a IA game if the top player has 5+ kills. I'm really fed up of losing games all the time because of this. I have lost about 12 IA games and 9 of these were due to this, the other three I lost to the Host, he happened to be good anyway so Good Player + Host = Auto-Win.

7) Countdown between games is too long - Unfortunately not enough people play TIA Fast Rounds and also they need a playlist for IA Fast Rounds.

8) Picking bad host consecutively - If host has 4 bar and everyone has 1 bar I usually stick it out to see if I can win anyway and in the hope that next game it will select a new host. However, this usually doesn't happen and we have the same host again. This is another loss as the host goes on a tear or I leave as I cannot be bothered with killing people 6x over to get 1 kill.

9) Don't put me in the same game again - Sometime if there is bad host I will leave the game and except the loss. However when I search for a new session it will autojoin me in the same game and won't give me the choice as to whether I want to join them or not. Please dont do this as this equals two losses as I will need to exit again or at least give us a pop-up before entering the game so we can choose to enter the game or not.

10) Not putting me in the Map we voted for - Take yesterday for example, they maps to choose from were Terminal and Impact and we voted for the latter. Then the voting period ended and we started going into Wall Street?

Please note that I am not a bad player so I'm whining about the connections because I svck. I am strictly a TIA and IA player and have 3.5 KD and I am 5th reboot so I know when I can't win due to lag or because I was outplayed. The above urgently needs fixing, they are really essential. Lag is fine for the most parts but it seems that it is either great or awful, usually great but the awful ones are becoming more regular.

PLEASE Crytek fix these so I can enjoy this wonderful game more! IMO, the lobby system is the only thing letting this amazing game down!

Agree 1000%

But the chances of these issues being fixed (let alone addressed) are practically none.

Thanks, I happy that I am not the only person suffering with these issues.

Dude, there are hundreds off us experiencing problems, yet Crytek sit back and do nothing.

FYI, helps for me somewhat:

If there is a bad host who is obnoxious to the point you quit, make sure you go to their profile and "Avoid" them. The system isn't perfect, but I have found it does at least seem to help somewhat. Sometimes I do get kicked back in to bad host games, but that's just the way it is. MW2 was way, way worse in this respect, after they put the region filter on it, it completely ignored an "Avoid" or "Prefer" command and would kick a player in to the same terrible host lobby 5-10 times. Crysis 2 seems to do it once or twice and that's it. Annoying, I understand, but using the "Avoid" system I have managed to avoid some of the kicking back in to the same bad host lobby.

It's really making me angry they are how arrogant they are that they think they are above speaking to their customers.

It's been 26 days now since last patch and we've heard nothing. Not even something amongst the lines of "were working on X, Y, Z" or "we will be releasing on [Date]". It's mind-boggling.

Thanks a lot for this I will use this next time as I wasn't aware of this system. Doesn't stop me from getting into other lobbies with awful hosts but it may help.

I messaged a host who had everyone at red bar to ask him to leave so that host would migrate but he wouldnt and he stayed in the lobby for another two games. Thing is Crytek wont tell you why
who is host until you get into the game so it's always a gamble.

I'm trying not to brag buuuut i don't see these problmes too often, ill get these problems 1/7 times. I dont know if its my connection or what. But also it is a possiblity that Crytek is going though some financial problems having to lay off people, which makes for less people to fix these problems. But if im wrong about that please correct me. it has also been 2 week sence i have played Crysis 2.

Crytek,

can you please acknowledge my OP please?

I know you did some Network Performance tweaks recently but did they work on any of these problems?
