V.A.T.S. not working

V.A.T.S. seemed to work just fine right until I started to finish a quest in Goodsprings. Before entering the Gas Station I had no problems pulling up V.A.T.S. but on the way to the Saloon it seems it just doesn't want to pull up. Tapping R2 does nothing except give you that error sound. The game also seems to have a two second delay. Dynamite explodes but the sound kicks in two seconds after it went BOOM!

Not sure if this has to do with my save file? it worked great before...

After killing off the gangers it kicks back in. Reason I won't continue further is a certain 'somebody' dies every bloody time. I know by having V.A.T.S. up and running I could easily avoid this. Any ideas? anyone encounter this issue? if it is an issue.

Oh, may as well throw this in here. Anyone notice how off the NPC's are from walking around? they really have a hard time getting around objects, Sunny constantly running into her Dog. A really funny incident would be Easy Pete sitting a foot away from his usual chair.

I have noticed that VATS has even worse problems operating if you have damaged limbs. I dont know if this is to simulate the fact that you basically have your weapon hand hanging by a tendon or what, but yeah I have noticed it. And Pete sitting away from his chair is funny, although I have only seen it once. There again, the NPC's running into their companions or being stuck inside ( literally) rocks, sometimes make it hard for them to find if thy are quest essential.

Entering and exiting VATS when the enemy is coming after you is horrible! I can't count how many times VATS wouldn't activate or worse I couldn't fire my gun outside of VATS or even experience some type of lag. It reminds me of lag from CoD, but unfortunately, no MP or Co-Op.

What is even funnier is the fact that I still love this game so far. I guess I could start over or just continue on. It's just something I hope they fix with a patch or the patch that is coming soon, I hope.

Why is it games that have a lot of issues, bugs and so on still have you enjoy for what it is? It's the same with certain encounters with Demon's Souls, Medal of Honor. Hell, I even enjoyed Mercenaries 2! it boggles my mind.

Pathfinding (If you call it that) is one of the major problems I have with this game.

It appears I solved my own V.A.T.S. and delay issue. My controller was about to die as I had no bars left. I figured I may as well just drain it and plug it in once this quest is done. As I was on the forums my controller was charging and now that it has three bars it seems to be working just fine.

Who knew? I guess it would make sense... I just never had this happen to me before.

As I was heading to the Saloon I noticed the gangers weren't approaching. So I had to go too them. Just something I thought I'd throw in there.

Nah it's not funny, despite everything that I am having problems with, (just like I did with FO3) I continue to press forward. Maybe they will have a patch that solves the problems by the time I give it a second play through.
