Seriously, who cares if it's not Crysis 1?

Post » Sun May 15, 2011 7:49 am

I have Crysis 1. I built a gaming PC and I was a super cool kid, running benchmarks and reading numbers and enjoying the game like the rest of ya kool katz.

I also am really looking forward to seeing this game on consoles [PS3]. It looks to me like a really solid multiplayer, albeit there are a few technical glitches. Provided those glitches will be worked out, I'm really eager to check out the new style of gameplay, and get into the story.

Honestly, the multiplayer will probably keep my interest much longer than the C1 multiplayer as well.

I mean, it's going to bring on some nostalgia, I'm sure. That's enough for me. It should be cool to see the classic C1 weapons and abilities in a new light, perhaps even in more refined detail. What more could you ask for? Crysis 1 with new maps? Seems pointless with all the modding and sandbox edits already out there.

I have faith that one of the intelligent minds over at Crymod will make a N1 Mod for MP.

Then I'll be at rest.

Ah, that would be something, yes.

Yeah good ... so lets compare a PC exklusive game from 2007 to a multiplatform game in 2011... sounds rediculous?

Yeah, especially when the 2007 game was much better. Hopefully, they come out with a Crysis Wars 2.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Not a troll, actually an avid gamer with opinions about games.

Thanks for the opinions, everyone. It's good to know that there are people waiting to see what Crytek has in store for us before judging. I mean, the game looks phenomenal already, and they haven't yet disclosed any PC screenshots to date.

I really stand by what I said, and I'm still confident that this game will not disappoint PC gamers. Crytek has said they're raising the bar.

Also, check out this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68BJX6NdA10

I think that video really shows how outdated the demo was.

This game engine was designed, yes, for multi-platform purposes. More importantly, at it's core, the engine was designed on the PC and for the PC, in that the game has the capability to run with higher FPS, and the visuals are designed to run at a higher level of detail on the PC.

The multiplayer gameplay may be a little bit different, but it will bring back familiarities without a doubt. The PC gamers will obviously still get the technical "wow" that they're looking to get from a Crysis game, I wouldn't worry about that.

IT is safe to assume that crysis 2 will be as good looking as crysis 1 on pc, lets not take out or pitchforks yet, but do keep them sharpen

Heh, I do see the merit of it all, with abominations like a certain recent multi-platform shooter being released to the public. But Crytek has yet to bomb, whereas that certain shooter has failed to achieve time and time again.
