i hate to think bad things, but...

before i begin, i love elder scrolls, and im most likely gonna snatch this game up ASAP, even though there will most likely be a GotY edition eventually with all [if any] DLC on it for a cheaper price than the core game's starting price... eh, looks i already began with my negative thoughts... moving on!

ok, when i got oblivion the second it reached my gamestop [i was the second person in line to get a copy], i got the collector's edition... $70!

i got home, and almost never stopped playing it on my xbox 360... i grabbed every single DLC released for it, without regrets... so add all those prices to that $70.

of course, not long after the fighter's stronghold DLC was released and i got that, my 360 started dying... luckily i managed to do every quest in the game before my game started losing pieces of the game world [likely from the 360 being on its death bed].

that was alot of money spent on just one game, and i only had my 360 for a little under 2 years i think, before it died...

i was gonna consider getting it on ps3 so i could play it more, but none of the DLC was released on ps3, why?

dont worry, i'll be getting to skyrim soon enough...

now, my negative thoughts and worries for skyrim... if there is gonna be a collector's edition, im most likely gonna be getting that, and what if they release tons of DLC like with oblivion?

it'd be just like it was with oblivion, most likely... but i have a ps3, so instead of the same problem with the 360, im worried that skyrim will suffer from the same problem both fallout 3 and fallout new vegas had... the game becomes unplayable after the file reaches only a few MB!

most people's fallout 3 became unplayable at around 10mb or so, mine started crashing/freezing at 4-5mb... dunno why i have the worst luck.

im worried about spending tons of money on skyrim only to have it work out like fallout 3 and the game starts breaking down after only a few hours of gameplay, so i hope bethesda puts ALL of their focus on it and preferably not go overboard on anything that could cause the game to end up doing that.

also, since im getting this game on the ps3... what if we're cheated out of all the DLC they might release for the game? that would be... beyond depressing...

i know i mentioned oblivion and fallout more than skyrim, but all we know of skyrim is whats talked about in the trailer and i had alot of bad things happen with those other games by bethesda that im worried about happening with this game, so... of course they'd be mentioned more.

its probably because of that stuff happening that i cant get as excited as i want to. >_<

Most of oblivions DLC wasn't that great, mostly just houses with quests attached, or a quest chain to get a dagger that was in game in the first place (mehrunes razor) or horse armor. I never got any of it, ill only get skyrims if for some reason they leave werewolves out of the core game and decide they need to be DLC

Nobody really knows the anwer to your question however the game is being built on a new engine or a vastly improved Gamebryo engine so there is a good chance that you will be ok.

i hope the game will be stable... glitches, i can handle... but game-breaking instability that is unavoidable? thats just inexcusable...

morrowind was pretty stable, freezing only got bad on xbox when i played GotY edition, but thats because they pushed the xbox to its limit with that, apparently...

anyway, i dont mind the price so much... i just hope that my money wont be wasted, cause i dont wanna pay $100+ [collector's edition, if there is one, +DLC] just to have the game die on me after i do maybe 10 quests.

seriously, all i got out of fallout 3 was a few side quests and operation anchorage... after that, it started freezing and crashing. *sigh*

i am looking forward to skyrim, though... i hope i'll be able to play the game for many years until the next TES game after that, without it breaking on me.
