How to enchant?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 2:13 am

Jo is the sweet little wood elf I'm playing and she has a nice stolen silver bow. I'd love to enchant it. Is the Azura's Star quest the only way to get enchantment power?

Thanks.

You don't need Azura's Star, you can enchant with any filled soul gem or a Sigil Stone (from an Oblivion Gate).

With a filled soul gem you need entry in to the Arcane University (by doing the recommendation quests) or Frostcrag and buy the Magetallow Candles.

Be careful not to get arrested. The guards will confiscate your stolen property and you might have a hard time getting it back. I am not sure but I do not think enchanting an item removes the stolen tag.

If you enchant a stolen item, it does indeed remove the stolen flag. :foodndrink:

By enchanting an item or (depending on the item) turning it into a potion/poison, you can 'self-fence' some things. :)

Enchanting an item does "launder" it. As does selling it to a fence and buying it back. You can make stolen ingredients into legitimate potions and poisons, even if both ingredients are stolen, and the apparatus too!
