I just now freshly installed Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon on my brand new machine, a Windows 7 Laptop. Now I have not yet moved Morrowind to it's own folder as recommended for the Windows 7 installation for Morrowind but something tells me that won't solve this strange issue. I did a bit of searching and can't figure out if anyone else has encountered this, but I apologize if it's already been noted and I just overlooked it.
Whenever I start up Morrowind, it loads the ESMs normally, initializes the data, then gets to the opening movie, with the parchment background. I'm a huge Morrowind fan and I know what's supposed to happen: Jeremy Soule's amazing composition starts playing as the Morrowind logo begins to fade into view. But, alas, the game just freezes here at the very start of the opening menu. All i see is the parchment on my screen, no music, no video- even my cursor itself disappears, leaving me to have to alt-ctr-del and shut down, because my cursor just... disappears completely. I'm very upset that I can't enjoy my favorite game on my powerful new machine.
Has this happened to anyone else, and what would the solution be? Would moving it from the Program Files/.Bethesda to just c:/Bethesda fix it as is recommended in the installation instructions, or is this a unique issue?
