Your first time

With hundreds of hours and countless characters under each of our belt's our journey had to start somewhere. For some Oblivion was our first foray into the world of the elders scrolls and we had no idea what to expect. I rented the game from Movie Gallery in the spring of 2007 and was under the assumption it was a co-op dungeon crawl in the vein of Baldurs Gate. The boxes cover art provided no detail and the back of the game provided only the controls for the game. To my surprise i pulled out an extensive manual and went to work in the starting dungeon. I was greeted my the heroic voice of Patrick Stewart and went to work. Under the assumption this was a free world game I was a bit upset because I thought the whole game would take place in level format with the first level being this prison and its surroundings. Thus, I was enthralled when i opened up that sewer gate to find a HUGE world awaiting me and all my dreams. I was with my friend and for some reason he was unimpressed by my characters meager skills but i attempted to prove him wrong, so as i ran about in my undies, (I was trying to make light of the entire experience) I came upon a fort. As i approached an excitingly paced music began to play and my character grunted and groaned as he was beat down unmercifully by a rat i could not see. The game was too big for me and I found i could not play it until I had proper time to prepare my self and once my friend left I readied by Redguard Warrior and set upon the noble quest given to me by Baurus. Many hours of gameplay and almost a real life year later by character was head of all the guilds, save the DB and TG, ( I had a great fear of dungeons after being startled by a zombie in Vilverin early on). I had about 120 hours at this time and thought I had one it all. The game was shelved for a few months. Then a DLC called SI caught my eye in a truck stop magazine. Shortly after that I encountered this forum and my eyes were opened to the marvels of roleplay and also the countless things i had missed when playing before. I beat SI and started a new character, vowing to never again create a character who would try to finish everything and become godly.

I created a mage and started to explore, choosing not to fast travel for the first time. It was during a jaunt up the road between Skingrad and Chorrol that i encountered an Ayleid ruin, a family of deer scampered across the impressive marble archway and the sun was setting over Lake Rumare and the Imperial City and the familiar and beautiful music played. It was here I decided that this was the greatest game I had ever played and that the only way i would be happy in life would be if i could create beauty like this.

So how about you? Whats your story?

My first time? Well, it was a hot summer day and I was only 15. The neighbors pool looked pretty tempting and their daughter, even more so. I still remember the feeling of her soft, supple, budding. . .

Oh wait, Oblivion? Right, that was fun too. :whistling:

I remember walking out the dungeon gate and out into the bright sunshine. That was awesome.

Well I'm glad your brilliant enough to get the titles allusion to sixual experiences, but let's get back to the topic.

My first TES game was Morrowind.

When my two sons were really young I bought them a Nintendo 64 and we completed Zelda Ocarina of Time together (I did the control as they were too young). After playing pc games like Age of Empires 2 & Ghost Recon (1st one) to the death I wanted a game along the lines of Zelda where you have freedom to go where you want. and can play 10 mins and save or play hours and save.
My friend recommended Morrowind as it had just been released so I got myself a copy.

At first I just wanted to play a warrior as I wasn't taken by all the magic stuff. That was until I saw my friends character walking on water and realized I wanted to get into the magic bit also. From there Morrowind became my top game and when Oblivion was released I even bought a new PC so I could play it.

When I converted over to xbox I bought Oblivion all over again. Still my all time favourites. Followed by Call of Duty (WM & BO) & Age of Empires (2 & 3).
