You don't need to jump, you don't need to do jogging, you don't need to do any exercise. You can be sitting on your sofa and program the Kinnect-like device (not kinnect itself, as it may be not so powerful) to detect the movements of your fingers. Moving fingers is something you already do when play games.

Soo, I can be cool with the latest and greatest by programming a $150 Kinect to do everything a $30-40 Xbox controller does? Brilliant!

Classic RPG style K/M for me. Its an okay idea but it would just end up ruining the game. Bethesda would not want it anyway, Kinect is more of a children's thing. :obliviongate:

I think it's been confirmed by Todd that SR won't support Kinnect, because it uses too much memory.

If more memory was available, I wouldn't mind if Kinnect support was added. I don't have Kinnect, but it would be cool for those that do. This is assuming that adding Kinnect wouldn't detract from the overall development process.

Kinect sure is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWbLOFGSEDo

That was funny.

Personally, I think Kinect has a long way to go before it could be integrated with any degree of success in a game like TES. There are too many complex functions in TES for a motion control device to deal with and not have it be extremely infuriating in the process. Even if Kinect could somehow make it all work properly, I couldn't imagine wanting to play for more than an hour or two at a time -- it would simply be too exhausting (for me :P).

Kinect in ME3 is still just a rumour though, and even if it wasn't they have already confirmed that Skyrim will not support kinect. Motion control is a silly gimmick, and one that will hopefully die out sooner rather than later.

Why should it die out if people enjoy that sort of thing. If it's not for you, then leave it be. It brings families together for fun,it makes you get off your arsehole and do something aswell. Plus it's the fastest selling electrical device ever!....it won't die out. I'd prefer not use the motion with it for skyrim, but you could take advantage of the voice recognition.....like shouting the dragon shout words.....in fact i don't think todd as ruled that out completely ( the voice ). The kinect is a good device and is still new, things will get better for it. I prefer to play games like skyrim with a pad,but i also enjoy the kinect for fun.

This.

Motion control for Skyrim would be incredibly stupid. This is a hard core RPG not some kiddy game.

Haha, hardcoe RPG, good one.

I don't want to work out whilst playing video games. I want to relax.

I wouldn't use it either way, never been a fan of "look and feel silly when you play". I agree, a total waste of time. I'd much rather have mods for consoles than kinect/move for consoles. I'm sure everyone agrees on that?

The larger issue is.... I'd rather use the right controller for the right job.

For some games, motion controls are great (Wiimote + Wii bowling & golf, for example)

For some games, a game controller is great (console platformers & action games, JRPGs)

For some games, mouse & keyboard is great (FPS, RTS, western RPGs)

I'd much rather use the best tools for the job, than have to deal with "Hey, it's The Next Big Thing!?" shoved into every new game even when it's terrible. (lots of Wii games, for instance)

I still think Skyrim could benefit from optional Kinect Support for spell casting, voice integration, etc. Looks like ME is doing it...

oh hell no, kinect is a stupid gimmick & does not belong in any elder scrolls game. Games began with handheld controllers & that's how it should stay for as long as possible

Kinect is a stupid gimmick and has when't down in sales, 99% of xbox owners could give a crap about that gimmick. Skyrim is best played on the PC and in comfort of a controller not some lame system that makes you look like a bozo when playing. Hey, and Me3 will be another 30 to 40 hour linear story. Oblivions Shivering Isles has more content than both ME1 and ME2 lol. ME3 can do whatever it wants but it will never touch any TES game and thats not an opinion but the truth.

I wouldnt be against Bethesda introducing kinect in some way shape or form to the Elder Scrolls series (even though I plan to play on computer) however it would have to be something more than a mere gimmick, that being said I really dont see how Bethesda could really incorporate kinect into Skyrim in a meaningful way, personally I think it would be far more worthwhile if Bethesda tried to incorporate voice recognition into the game for the dragon shouts.
