I bought Brink a couple of days ago and after getting through all the time wasting "Steam" garbage and firing the game up (after D/L and installing the latest Nvidia drivers with OpenGL 3.1 support) the startup screen ran OK, I set up a couple of characters and went on to the Campaign/Challenges screen, selected the Start Mission button, got the black "Please Wait" screen with a frozen mouse pointer and a moving icon at the Top Right of the screen that I assume is the "Loading" Icon.
The game doesn't start after waiting (for up to 30 minutes at one point), it doesn't matter if I am connected to the internet or not... nothing happens at all. Windows Task Manager reckons Brink is still running but nothing is happening at all.
After paying top price for this game I am more than a little annoyed that after going through the ridiculous Steam install (when I have the DvD !!!) that the game won't even run !!!

All sensible suggestions welcomed....
