Patch is 1.01 is here!

Post » Thu Aug 20, 2009 9:30 pm

The 1.01 patch still has lockups, but I think the game is playable. I have not come across any gamebreaking bugs yet, and I am about 25+ hours in the game.

But did you have more problems before the patch? If you're one of those (lucky) who didn't have much problem to begin with your report on the patch obviously doesn't mean much.

Anyone who comments in this thread: please don't just say how well (or not well) the game works after the patch, but also how it differs from before the patch.

Turned my PS3 on the day after getting FO3 NV and it immediately prompted me to update to 1.01 when I put the disk in, so far so good, 1 lockup after a reload in the wilderness, that is in 30 or so hours of gametime, not too bad, seems more stable than the original FO3 so!

If it is any consolation I've yet to hear anyone praise the patch fixed anything notable, in fact from the patch notes it looks as if they ignored the majority of the complaints lodged. Still seeing the same threads over and over.

This patch is a joke. They are making fun of us and trying to pass the image that they are actually trying to work on the issues. I

If it's anything like Fallout 3 was, we'll get a couple of patches that just enable DLC, and then absolute silence.

I agree with you. I mean, Bethesda does not give a **** to the PS 3 user base. Maybe it is time for us tho show them were it hurts more, in their pocket.

It's not the PS3 that's the issue - 360 owners are in the same boat too. Fallout 3 crashed on both the 360 and PS3 and what did we get to stop it crashing? Nothing.

Would it be possible for them to fix the frame-rate issues and freezing with a patch? Surely that is to do with the engine they have used.

To fix the laggyness wouldn't they need to re-call all the games and re-programme it?

My biggest decision now is do I sit and wait for them to fix it? Or do I accept the fact they probably won't do anything about it and return/sell it?

I think the same thing happened to me, now that I think about it that was the last time I remember seeing mine. That was a couple in game weeks ago. Now he's nowhere to be found and I can't get another companion because he's still attached to me.

I wasn't able to get into the fort with my companions (had to leave them behind) but I'm quite sure this was because I have Boone as a companion. To get your companion back try the following:
If you are unable to find your companion despite waiting or fast traveling, go to Vault 22 and take the elevator to the bottom floor. He/she should be directly in front of you when you step out. It even works when the companion has been told to "Wait here." This can only be done if you have a repair skill of 50 or greater.

I waited for 24 hours and my dude turned up. Same with sleeping
