Economy Altering

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 9:08 am

Howard confirmed that you will be able to destroy lumber mills and mines to wreck a local economy, but I have two questions about this:

1) It just screws you over by boosting prices for all goods made with those materials in that region. Sure, you *can* do it, but that's like saying you can optionally die.
2) Can you do anything to help the local economy? Work the mines and mills often enough and actually decrease prices? It doesn't make sense for them to offer the evil choice for little benefit and not an alternative.

What are your thoughts? Is anyone else concerned with this system as we currently know about it?

I'm sure Todd and hid team have already thought about it and you'll have no need to worry (I hope). It's too obvious a mistake to make, allowing you to go one way but not another.

that obviously should be the part that every one is excited for. imo vendor gold limit should be attached to this so that we can have higher seller gold.

yeah so I may be able to finally sell my rare artifacts for what they are worth. Spell Breaker worth 16,500 gold but I can only get 2000 max for it. That way I don't have to horde it because I don't want to get ripped of by some vendor who is then going to immediatley put it up for sale for 25,000 gold

Well one thing is that if you get a job at a lumber mill or mine and you produce a lot of it.. Producing a lot of a resource = More of it = The price goes down from having so much.

Perhaps if you want to play a more evil side, there may be quests that require you to sabotage something for some personal gain. Of course anything you do will have an effect, but depends on what kind of character you want to play.

So if you can destroy it... the key question is, can you build it?
